Is there any confirmation that the 2nd batch of Type 055 (i.e 055A) have Integrated Electric Propulsion (IEP) MVDC and 4x CGT-40 Gas Turbine ?

To me it is a massive upgrade. It seems China has 3 other ships with Integrated Electric Propulsion (IEP) MVDC 054B, Type 076 and Type 003

No, there are barely any known changes to the new batch, 003 and 054B are also not IEP. 076 is the only surface PLAN vessel to feature IEP.

Doing such massive changes to the 055's propulsion and onboard electrical power system (swapping CGT-25M to CGT-40M, converting COGAG to MVDC IEPS, etc) inside the hull would require the degree of changes to the exterior visible superstructures that would've become apparent to any normie observers long ago.

And given what we've observed on the 9th and 10th 055 DDGs (which basically have little to no changes) - The answer is a resolute No.

Also, as mentioned by @Tomboy - As of present, only the 076 LHD (and the 2000-ton integrated test platform USV) has IEPS.

They could at best have CGT-30 because it fits the same space as CGT-25. This would be a huge upgrade already.
