She's probably there for warm water trials or to avoid doing trials in the cold climate up north. Or it can be both. The PLAN tends to sends ships down south during the winter. In the meantime, and probably before she left Hainan for Qingdao, she borrowed the degaussing dock in the submarine bay usually reserved for the 093s and 094s.
I think a ship has to be tested in extreme cold and hot weather before commissioned, also cruising for a long range. We don't want to see the kind of fiasco of Type 45. :D

If this is true, its likely 101 also had its tour on Hainan.

One thing I noticed is the way the ships went unnoticed --- slipping in and out of the Taiwan straits without a beep from Taiwan. Did they even catch the time the first Type 075 managed to slip down from Shanghai to Hainan which would take it through the Straits? There was a lot of ruckus when the Liaoning and Shandong would do that, and there is always constant vigilance against Chinese aircraft entering the Taiwan ADZ.

No Taiwan kept quiet when 075 moved through the strait. PLAN kept it quiet too and it was first noticed by tourists at Sanya.

I like the Tibetan motif.

A good way to dab on all those who doubt China's control over its integral territory.

The current admiral Kuznetsov was previously named Riga, and then Tibilise. The fact that it is now named Kuznetsov shows the previous names didn’t dab effectively on any who doubted the owning state’s control over its integral territory.

Much more effective way to dab on those would be to show such confidence as necessary to man an operational prestige ship with a crew of Tibetans.

Another sign of the decline of America, promoting people based on race than on competence.
