I'd argue having double the VLS, more C4I facilities, having room to refit newer weapons like rail guns and lasers (if IEPS is present), room for an admiral to plant his flag, and better living conditions are all valid improvements an 055 would bring
The larger hull size could well allow for a scalable APAR set-up, in addition to the other things.

Anyhow, I took those other pictures and did a little work on them to make it two 64 Cell VLS installations, to make the hangar a two ASW helo affair, and to point out two 30mm CIWS in addition to the two FL-3000N CIWS. Also took out the ASMs because they can be added to the VLS.

Such a vessel would be a real good anchor for defense to a CSG, an ARG, or any large SAG the PLAN would put to sea.

Here's how it looks:

Great picture, that virtually has all the aspects of what I expect and hope 055 to look like!

Only thing that's missing is the type 1130 ciws, but that's not worth the effort to add in, being such a small detail.
It would also be nice if the super structure and smoke stacks were more integrated like zumwalt and thus more stealthy, but I doubt the real thing will feature it, given lack if EMCON in a real conflict means RF stealth won't be that useful.

That's a nice looking CG but I think the bridge is sitting way too low into the structure needs to be higher, too similar to Hobart Class DDG

For reference, here's a comparison to the Type 052D, showing the differences in size:

Bltizo, here's a little variation, integrating the two masts into a single integrated mast.

Wow that's an even better CG!

I think the bridge looks fine, btw, however I preferred the VLS configuration of the old CGI, more longitudinally.

It obviously isn't quite as stealthy as zumwalt, but it's still on par with some of the euro frigates. In fact the entire CG looks very European.

I agre.. that ship looks like it just rolled off from DCNS or ThyssenKrupp which means it probably won't look anything like Jeff's rendition (no offence Jeff) ;) LOL. j/k
If there's one thng we know about PLAN is they are definitely more partial to US designs and technologies than the Europeans or even the Russians

On the contrary I think 054A 052D look more European than American.

052D comes closest to the AB class in terms of looks. No way it looks European...

052D definitely looks like AB in terms of configuration, but the smoother lines and gentler whitish colour scheme makes me think DCNS
