Rumored 555 might be the domestic version of the FM3000N missile. The missile was shown in the last Zhuhai show as quad packing on the U-VLS, called HT-1E in export form.

I find it unlikely that CASIC, which is the main SOE provider for China's naval missiles, not all, but mostly, will have two completely different missiles in development. Rather they would pursue the one design that has the most promise, and offered a nerfed version for export. Note that 45km is just 5km short of the 50km rumored with Missile 555. CASIC is also responsible for the U-VLS, the YJ-18, the HHQ-9, and the HHQ-10 system. The missile is active radar guided.

It might be a copy of 9M96E, S350/S400. Max speed would be less than 3 Mach.

9 packing for a 50km missile, even if the UVLS is bigger, would show that Chinese missile tech and miniaturisation has overtaken the US by quite a bit, which I still don't think is the case unfortunately

Not necessarily. They can potentially go with a small diameter, long length, multi-stage design to make the most of the full length of the VLS. But seeker size and performance may be a limiting factor. Especially if anti-stealth is a major consideration.

FM3000 is similar in basic layout with the 9M96E and the Tor-M1, having canard fins at the front for aerodynamic control.

To 9 pack a U-VLS, you will need something like the 9M100 missile, but that overlaps with the HQ-10 in functionality.

For the FM3000N to reach let's say about 120km, you will need a second stage booster, while greatly extending the length. This will be like the 9M96E2 in functionality.

Long time ago, somebody in this forum made this for UVLS packing, I can't remember who, possibly Blitzo

What's the red for? Is it the space needed for cold launch?

Do we know how thick is the FM3000?

Edit:
Russia's 9m96e is 240mm
UK's camm-er is only 190mm but 275mm with canister

So I think it would be possible for China's 555 to theoretically 8-pack, assuming the PLA wants such a capability

I think the red is for hot launch (hot gas duct), without red means for cold launch

3rd Destroyer Division pennants are almost complete. Only 135 is left but I will presume this will come from the next batch now under construction.
