Some of them would be in reserve and on standby status. Only 40 of them would active.

sell all those 050B,051, mings , songs...etc to other countries.

And Army would cut 1/2.

You know... you really are funny at most.

1) You would keep 60 in reserve and only 40 will be in active service? thats a first and a silly one at best. It is like, I built ships just to store them up and not using them. And might I remind you, even in storage you need, maintanence, you need place to store them and you need infrastructure to support them.

2) what is the etc? you mean all other corvette, frigates and everything else... so China only had 052D sailing? Come on! That is not how a navy work. All ships type have a purpose... it might look old and useless on paper, but it served a purpose... or the PLAN will not keep them around or continue to built them in numbers.

3) China is a large area and the biggest population in the world. Even right now, their army is barely enough for the job they are doing... and you are going to cut the army by half? If any emergency in the country happened, who is going to maintain orders, help in fighting disaster... you?

Not to mention, although China had a vast sea lane, her land border with other nations are also very wide, in fact wider than the sea lane, her army was actually stretched very thinly throughout. And finally... cutting the entire army by half now... where is those military personnel that are being cut going to go to? Isn't that going to become more of a security and social problem?

Building 100 052D will create a lot of jobs in the industry for people.

sell those old equipments and cut down on army to help to finance the projects,

Another nonsense idea and theory. Building 100 052D will create lots of jobs in the industry for the people. You think that building ships are for the unskilled people who you can drag from the streets to work in the shipyard?

Again... sell old equipments... what old equipment? Can you even specified them... those older frigates and destroyers? I mean come on... China is reducing and and changing these weapons systems as we speak... even then, you don't get that type of money to build, operate and maintain 100 052D (even with 60 in storage).

I have already mentioned about cutting down on army in my previous post, so I will not repeat here.

Photos of the the CIC are interesting.

Looks like they aren't using 056s newer style consoles but also the CIC is a little bit bigger (wider?) than pictures of 170 and 171s CIC.

The 151's CIC layout appears to be significantly wider and more spacious so that two large format wall displays are accommodated. Also, 151's Nav room does appear to be equipped with the new generation of consoles.

It does seem a little bit wider and more spacious, with more individual consoles as well. Four either side of the main screen/s instead of three. Nice to see the 052C 3-6 do feature some noticeable upgrade in its CIC.

I expect 052D probably has the newer consoles on 056. I think maybe 052C 3-6 didn't feature it because A, the consoles may not have been ready for the new 052C production, and/or B, it was not worthwhile to adapt 052C's existing combat system to a new generation of consoles especially when it is only for four boats.

Briefly off-topic: the Shanghai Bund is about as spectacular a location can be for docking a ship.

I'm sure the Russian boys were mighty impressed by Shanghai.

Well, the Slava displaces a lot more than the Type 052C. 12,500 tons for the Slava compared to 7,000 for the Type 052C.

And so the Slava can add a lot of weaponry. The main one you cannot miss is the 16 very large, supersonic, ship killer missiles. She also has 64 VLS AAW cells for long range anti-air missiles, and another 40 medium range anti-air missiles.
Finally, add the six AK-630 CIWS systems as well, and then a pad and hanger for a medium helo.

By comparison, the Type 052C has eight smaller anti-shipping missiles, 48 VLS AAW missile cells, two Type 730 CIWS and a pad and hanger for one helo.

If you compare them side by side, Slava to Type 052C:

LR ASM: 16 vs 08
LR AAW: 64 vs 48
MR AAW: 40 vs 00
CIWS 30: 06 vs 02
Pad/Helo: 01 vs 01

So, given her size and those very apparent 16 large ship killers...it's little wonder the Slava is is so imposing. Bit the Type 052C is no slouch either with its 48 very decent air-to-air missiles, its APARS, its own eight very decent ASMs, and its CIWS.
