That looks like HHQ-9 tube. The earlier one looks like a torpedo.

We've had previous pictures of 052D being loaded with a different tube which seems similar to 052C's canister for HHQ-9... with the canisters partially differentiable due to the number of rings on the canister.

One hypothesis difficult to see but crane seems very close VLS could be part of VLS ? and look a little those of the Mk 41 seems more big maybe.

As Mk 41 on Ticonderoga or Burke Fl I/II which have tho modules with a crane which occupies 3 cells on 8

Well...that's what HHQ-9 is supposed to look like. Torpedo...if it is the Chinese copy of the ASROC.

Unless you have a picture of what the YJ-18 looks like, then show it. Otherwise, you got one that looks like HHQ-9 (or another long range SAM). It looks about what you would expect with length and diameter and type of cannister.

I don't know what the heck you are talking about with torpedo. Yes, everyone knows what ASROC is.

This was discussed over on CDF a while back.
The crane is almost definitely not part of the VLS and is probably removable from the ship, and only installed when needed
