Re: DDG 052C Thread

Dear Sirs:

If the outline is correct, there is nothing to suggest that it will be different than a typical 052C destroyer - yet.

We're going to have to sit on our hands and bite our nails and see which version is actually right.

Good Luck.

Re: DDG 052C Thread

there are a lot of assumptions in that 'processed' pic. when i blow up the pic and play with contrast and what not i simply can't say with certainty if there is a little deck before the bridge, i can't say where the second structure begins nor can i tell if the upper deck is angled inwards near the stern.

By the size of the people in the pic, so far it doesn't look any bigger than the 052C. Wasn't there discussion long ago about how there's a flaw in the 052C design because the PAR panels were too low? If true it doesn't look like they addressed that in the new construction.

I don't think that's an issue anymore. They had 5 years to address all of the issues.

As for the ship itself, I'm not expecting this to be that different from the first two 052C. There is suppose to be the two waves. The first one being very similar to 052C and the second having bigger channges.

Mind you looking like 052C could still mean new main gun, upgraded CIWS, better sensors, better combat system, two more VLS tubes. So, let's wait and see.

Re: DDG 052C Thread

Looks cool definitely approaching AEGIS capability.Future variants of these DDGs would be expected to feature better sensors, better radar, and new missile systems to engage Ballistic Missiles like USA'S SM-3s, though that wouldn't be expected to be in PLAN service until after 2020. I expect future DDGs would be two times larger than this one, allowing PLAN to store more VLS-launched next-generation stealth LACMs as well as SAMs better than HQ-9(range 90kms) that could engage aircraft up to 200kms like the S-300PMU-2.

I expect pigs will start flying in 2017.

Seriously, what's up with all these posts about what you want/expect China to do? They are not based on facts and there is no reason to believe whether they will be true or not. They don't contribute at all...

I'd have to agree. When someone provides a prediction based on past trends or present facts, all is alright. We appreciate that. However, in the last 24 hours there has been a flood of "predictions" and "guesses" that are based on nothing other than people's fantasy. It's just wasting our time. Unless there is backing, please don't post.

If that is the mast above the crossbeam we see, i can't relate it to the existing 052C.Looks like a structural design change to me.
