Why not? They doing pretty good, of course, it's no comparison to the J-10 series and J-20. I was hoping either Shanyang or Chengdu can do a Chinese version of JSF F-35 VSTOL type.

I hope, in fact all of us, wishing Shenyang to come up with a 100% idgeniOus fighter which is NOT a reference to other fighter, preferably a stealth one.

Assuming they went for a conventional design, it'll resemble the F-22 and the T-50 allot. I wonder how much people will accuse shenyang of stealing then

Well, I guess it alleviates somewhat when you already had the J-20 out first, as oppose to the other way round, where people could accuse shenyang of ripping off western designs and the Chengdu one being a later improvement.
