094? If so, it would be the first time that we've had a look at its propeller.

Well, let's compare.

First, in October 2013, we had satellite imagery of a known Type 094 Jin-Class SSBN at a dry dock in Huludao, northeastern China.

2013-Type094.jpg

Then we have this new photo, which I have rotated to match:

New-PLAN-Sub.jpg

It just does not look like a Type 094 to me. I am not sure what it is...perhaps a SSN instead of an SSBN.

But the coloring looks almost like a US sub coloring.

US La Class.jpg

That's a US Los Angles class SSN in dry dock in Hawaii. (You can see the Arizona memorial behind it).

That image (the rotated sub) looks photoshopped or altered aft of the sale. There are 2 rectangular sections that are straight and not aligned with each other or the hull. The shadow also looks like a traditional Chinese SSBN, imaged from above.

Somebody is playing games with that picture.

ay well be. I simply rotated what was posted here to compare to one we know was a Type 094 from 2013.

Whatever is there...however it may have been PS'ed...it simply does not look like a Chinese SSBN to me.

The only thing I still think this might be real is the name on that picture "Polite Thief" is well known for leaking interesting pictures. Unless that name was also psed......

It may not be PSed, but rather simply an effect of how the satellite took the picture originally.

That crossed my mind as well. I did not see a similar offset in the drydock walls above or below the sub. Either way, its not that important.

Actually, there is a bit of an offset -- on Jeff's rotated, larger image, one can see the lower border/wall of the drydock is not a straight line, but rather they are slightly deviated in the same way as the submarine's hull is.

But you're right, it's not that important. The picture is likely real, we just don't know what submarine it really is.

"Polite Thief" never post fake photos before, but he usually use photoshop to censor some part of his pictures. And only give you hints of what those photos are suppose to be. Could this be the first picture of 095?
