yes, was that the open day for the public though, right?

As I said, I haven't seen any photos of recent 056 commissionings with HMGs mounted.
That commissioning event was during the open house, the star show you might say, because it's rare for heavyweights like the HKSAR Chief Executive or the Garrison CO would show up in run-of-the-mill open house event. I remembered I was there very early so I can get to a good photospot at public area, and mind you good spot quickly filled up not long after I got there.

Also, it's true that subsquent spotting of the 056s, be it during commissioning or trials or ops, they don't mount those HMG anymore. Probably either the 30mm autocannon is deemed sufficient for the job and rendered the 12.7mm HMG redundent, or the position's arc of fire is deemed lacking when again compared with the 30mm autocannon.

Sorry, i still don't get it :)

Do you mean the expression "hull number" is wrong ? Correct English would be "pennant number" ?
well

Ohhh alright I get it now :)

And yeah I saw steve post, but I modestly think/hope my articles can bring a little extra (such as give background to the picture i.e. where the commissioning took place, which fleet will get the ship etc...)

But thank you for explaining, I was completly lost lol

actually later I was sorry to bother you, navyreco ... I'm guessing it's your job to go over military news; here though OK I'll speak for myself: I'm trying to have fun, so ... just one example: I watch who was the first to announce the winner of some important contract, and then congratulate that poster LOL

Well, from reading the latest 056 Corvette page, on the Chinese Wiki, and from info elsewhere, it appears that.........another 056 Corvette has been launched, on the 26th August at the Wuchung shipyard, hull No 515, and it is the 11th 056A variant to of been launched.
I havn't yet seen a name for the vessel, but i'am sure we will get more info soon, hopefully with a photo of said launching.
Regarding the ships name, i hope it doesn't have any annotation marks in it, as members here spent many posts discussing the name of the most recent 056 to be made active in the Chinese fleet. :)
