I remember when a rumour came out in 2012 that DL would assist in the construction of Type 052D with JNCX

Has really nobody been able to figure out the actual function of the windshield wipers all this time?

I dislike the fact that this is a feature not present on other AESAs and probably represents a single-point failure for the entire panel if it has an important function.

It's for calibration purposes. I think it's called a near-field scanning probe in English but I won't be surprised if that's incorrect. Here's
