Well those hanger modules look like LHD to me at shipyard, next to the 6th LPD

When the rumour came out last year about construction start I think it was pretty real

Google translate was pretty poor in helping me understand him. Something like 37,000 tons (Which we knew) and 20,000 tons (which i don't know what he was refering to) and some problems solved, (don't know which) and 4 something.... 4 landing spots? 4 LHD ships planned?

on the Type 075.

  • Type 075 displacement ~37,000t
  • Larger than export-oriented 20kt design, and will have correspondingly more landing/takeoff positions
  • In response to other members asking if his claims of a resemblance between the 075 and Mistral's superstructure are true, he said the superstructure doesn't look like Mistral's per se, just that it resembles even less like the Wasp's. It most resembles the superstructure design of the 054B and uses a single-piece (integrated?) mast
  • The Mistral's tallness due to the presence of a well-deck and hangar and it's shortness due to only displacing ~20,000t makes it look rather ungainly. The 075 will look more aesthetically pleasing and better proportioned like the Wasp
  • First batch of two vessels, final order should be four vessels
  • FC-31 prospects in the PLAN are decent but will definitely have modifications if selected

Not necessarily, if the land-based PLANAF purchases some as well. Only the carrier-based aviation branch would require modified designs / variants.

I really hope 2018 is the year we finally see this unit

4 units is making sense so is 2+2

This means 2 for SSF and 2 for SSF

Adding to the amphibious flotillas

Each ARG consisting of 1 x LHD and 2 x LPD throw in a few Type 072III for good measure

Air component- LHD
Ground component-LPD
Logistics component-LST

A Type 075 leading 2 x Type 071 and 4 x Type 072III lifting a marine brigade

So we have CSG and ARG in the making

The presence of LSTs would totally destroy the concept of an ARG. An LST can only land and disembark its cargo on certain types of beaches whereas neither the LPD nor the LHD have the same restrictions. The LST would become the weak link in the chain and the entire ARG would be handicapped because of it.
