Hello there, I'm "Ghost", a 21 year old from the United Kingdom but of Chinese ethnicity (If you're after something to put on your CV when applying for the NSA, or just want to know where I live, feel free to decipher the RIPEMD-160 hash I've set as my location. ;)).

I've been browsing this forum for a while now, but I figured it was about time I took a more active part in the discussion that goes on here. My main interest lies in the emerging spectrum of Cyber-Warfare, and in particular, highly-sophisticated nation-state malware along the lines of Gauss, Flame, Stuxnet etc. This area, even when we've seen some of its capability, is still very under-researched and under-developed. The fact that something in its infancy can be so capable already really boggles the mind. It will be very much interesting to see the next Gauss and what it could do.

I am also however fascinated by Fighter Jets (where this forum is renowned for fantastic discussion by expert members like Air Force Brat and Engineer) and Warships (where members like Jeff Head provide professional knowledge). The maiden flight of the J-20 was a moment of great pride for me in how far China has come and I equally look forward to seeing more PLAAF/PLAN related developments being analyzed and evaluated here.

Some of my personal interests include Cryptography (who would've guessed? ;)), Data Science, Technology and Finance. Sports-wise, I'm a keen Badminton and Table Tennis player. For leisure I like to play Poker. A slightly unhealthy addiction perhaps but one which, with luck and skill, will be very profitable :D.

Looking forward to contributing to the best military forum on the net!

Kind Regards,

Ghost.

You are from the lost empire?

Yes, I have shot both the AK and the SKS, both fine weapons, did you fire the AK off-hand, or off a bench... I do enjoy the AR in part because of its extremely light recoil and superior accuracy, I had a Romanian AK in my possession for a short while, but compared to the AR which many of us use for target/coyote hunting, it was not quite as accurate, also my AR is a flat-top with a 1/8 twist which favors heavier bullets, 62 grain plus. The SKS I shot was a Norinco, and it was really a very nice gun, I compare the AK and SKS with the Winchester Model 94 of the last century, the little Winchester being a light compact Carbine, with a very ballistically effective 30 cal punch....very effective out to 200-250 yds, as far as accuracy, but packing a more effective terminal performance than the light AR round. My AR is very accurate and groups heavier bullets quite nicely, they offer more terminal effectiveness IMHO than the lighter bullets.....

now as to cooking, well I really like shrimp egg rolls...

Hi Guys! My Name is Yuxiao Chen, and since I'm listed as a new member, I thought I might as well write somehting about myself.

Chinese Name: Yuxiao Chen (of course..)
English name: Craig
Age: 22
Citizenship: China (but I have lived in the United States for a whole decade)
Interest: Internaitonal politics, military strategy, equipements, history...
Hobbies: car fanatic, painting/sketching, baseball, cooking (chinese, japanese, french, american, italian, british, mexican/spanish)

I have been "active" on this forum since 2006, but never really posted anything until recently, I think this forum is a wonderful place to obtain knowledge on many aspects, and a break from the common western social knowledge on china.

I've shot type 95 when I was in china about 2 summers ago, I was suprised of how light the gun is and the little recoil it has. its accuracy was impressive, despite I was shooting from aprone position without my glass ( I'm near sighted) and from the wrong side (I'm a lefty).

He said guns he like to use in CS, as in the computer game called Counter Strike. So no I don't think he has actually shot any guns in real life.
