It's one thing to see a mouse dropping an anvil on a cat's tail but another to see a character mocking someone's misfortune, rebelling against authority or bad mouthing another.

But, but, all that exact same stuff happened in those older cartoons too, even in T&J...

Anyways, about just trying to help Jeff, point taken and agreed. I'm actually not planning to see it in theaters either. Seems like a better film to catch on Netflix.

I saw Hotel Budapest last night. It is a hilarious movie if you enjoy dry British humor (which I do). I highly recommend it. I am still laughing thinking about some of the lines.....

Great movie. The director Wes Anderson is from Houston. I enjoyed watching his films (Moon Rise Kingdom, The Royal Tenenbaums, and Life Aquatic With Steve Zissou).

Adult (not X-rated) version of Power Rangers.

Personally I was not young enough to get into the Power Rangers era when it first came out. This Joseph Khan guy, known for music videos, has done this with his version of unauthorized remakes of TV and movies. Not sure if he's trying to get a job directing a feature version of them but if so he certainly spends money just for a chance. I hope his music videos made him a lot of money.

Looks more like Power Rangers mixed with "Call of Duty" video games as far as the cinematic take.

I saw that, It's a unique take on a Children program. Normally Power Rangers Fan films are in the same spirit as the series, campy, soft and comedic. The Monsters getting thrashed every one going home at the end of the day.

This guy took the most dubious ideas and expanded on them. Taking... How was it put in the pilot? Oh yes five overbearing and over-emotional humans. adding the term adolescence to that and then pitting them in a war. making Spandex clad rainbow colored child soldiers the worst case being in PR:Turbo where the new Blue Ranger replacing Rocky ( seen in this as the interrogating mercenary played by James Van Der Beek) who had changed from red ranger to Blue zeo ranger) Justin was a Actual Preteen. ( almost all the teams age wise were at least 16 years old some such as light speed rescue and Power rangers in Space were actually adult teams)
Another issue we see is PTSD played out in the Characters and that's a major issue for real combat vets. This video attempts to show tired rangers and how they each cope with what has been thrown there way as the MMRP rangers were more or less forced to sport the spandex.

I will say the following I liked it and I was a Fan of the Original MMPR eventually moving on by Turbo. I found there take interesting although I think they held back.
For example the Fight between there Black Ranger (Gicha Gambia) and the General (Will Yun Lee). The original Zack Character was the First Black ranger, The Actor in the series was Walter E Jones Who left the series along with the Actors who played the Red ranger Jason scot ( Austin St John in the series Steven Knight in this film) and the Actress who play the First Yellow Ranger Trini ( Thuy Trang RIP 1973-2001 in the series Camilla Lim in the short) left the Show Replaced by Rocky DeSanto (Steve Cardenas in the series James Van Der Beek in the short) as the second red ranger Aisha Campbell (Karan Ashley.) the second yellow ranger and Adam Park the second black ranger (Johnny Yong Bosch). the actor playing the "General" Could have played the second Black ranger Adam making it Black ranger on Black ranger in fact that might have been a goal as he is wearing a inverted black and white suit and there black ranger accuses the Korean General of "bootlegging" his stuff.
They also held back on the Blue Ranger Billy Cranston originally played by David Yost ( Played in the short by Yves Bright) who left the show under claims of Harassment due to his personal orientation.
there was also a second major cast change for the pink ranger When Kimberly Heart the first Pink Ranger played by Amy Jo Johnson ( Katee Sackhoff in the short) in the series left in 1995 replaced by the second pink ranger, Katherin "Kat" Hillard (Catherine Sutherland). Which seems to have been echoed in the plot of this short.
The Focus on the Character of Tommy Oliver the first Green Then White ranger played in the Series by Jason David Franks (Russ Bain in the short) was actually very fitting, Tommy has worn more Ranger colors Green Ranger, White Tiger Ranger, White Ninja Ranger, Red Zeo Ranger, Red Turbo Ranger, and Black Dino Ranger then any other actor. Franks also may have inspired the film as he at one convention is stating he wanted to see a more Adult Ranger series. However He did not like the film.
Now Lions Gate films is said to be in production of a Official Power rangers Reboot film which will likely be much more kid friendly. That combined with the Fact that Disney for a time owned the rights which are now back with Saban Entertainment is out to stomp this out.
