you know how china has about 100 rd-93's it cant export to pakistan? why wait and let those engines rust when you can make your own force of around 70 of those new fc-1"s?

i guess, since they partly funded it. but the first deilveries will be sales.
the fc-1 is cheaper than a j-10, and what else are you going to do with 100 rd-93's that you cant sell?

Pakistan does get production right, but if they dont have engines, then nothing is going to happen; i guess PLAAF can make 60-70ish FC-1 (100 engines doesn't mean 100 planes, count spare engines) with those engines and give them to the PLAN to use or something...

wellm nothing is free. the chinese made the planes, so they need money. also, if the plaaf buys planes, that may cut the cost of export versions.

FC-1 is just a cheaper replacement for the J-7s.
