The Chengdu Municipal Bureau of Economy and Information Technology recently issued the "Chengdu City Accelerated the Implementation Rules of Several Policies for the High-quality Development of the Integrated Circuit Industry", which provides comprehensive guidance on the application of integrated circuit talent policies, design industry policies, manufacturing policies, and improvement of industrial ecological environment policies. Conditions, supporting standards, etc. shall be clarified. The "Implementing Rules" will come into force on June 30, 2023.

It mentioned that high-level talents and excellent teams in the field of integrated circuits are encouraged to innovate, start a business, and find employment in Chengdu. High-level talents selected for the "Rong Piao Plan" and "Rongbei" software talents will be given a maximum of 3 million yuan, and the team will be given The maximum subsidy shall not exceed 5 million yuan. For experts and talents selected into major talent plans, policy support will be given in terms of housing, entrepreneurship, and capital in accordance with relevant policies and regulations. For major projects of integrated circuit manufacturing, packaging and testing, equipment, and materials with a total investment of more than 500 million yuan (inclusive), according to its technical products, technological level, and market prospects, the enterprise will be given a maximum of 10% of the fixed asset investment. 500 million yuan in comprehensive support.​

It is reported that IGBT products are currently mainly used in automotive OBCs, automotive air conditioners, etc. It is expected that module products will enter the main drive applications of automobiles this year. At present, the company's IGBT products have entered BYD, Great Wall, Geely and other car companies.

Diodes and MOS products of China Resources Micro-Silicon Carbide have been serialized and increased by more than 200% year-on-year in 2022. Now, why this is believable despite being rumors. @hvpc has mentioned that SMSC has about 20k wpm of production based on equipment that Lam/Amat sold to them. My personal calculation is that by second half of last year, they were doing approximately 23k wpm.

it makes sense for SMSC Fab 1 is placing order now for close to 10k wpm of production, since delivery likely won't happen until Q4 at the earliest, so production with it can't start until probably 2024Q2. Since SN2 is supposed to start production in Q3 of next year (based on the bidding info), it would make sense for Fab 1 to ramp up to full over 2024.

It is likely in my opinion that SMSC has been trialing/validating domestic tool in a de-americanized process (so ASML + domestic tools). Maybe this is feedback that early trials are looking up to par, so they are further going ahead with it. That doesn't necessarily mean they have moved past testing production at this point.

No, the only device US has the power over is EUV. All of ASML's DUV can't be restricted by USA. However, the Netherlands has agreed to possibly look into banning 2000 and 2050 DUV. So technically not America but still being restricted.
