It is understood that Lin Jian, President of Honghu Semiconductor, said in an interview with the media that Honghu Semiconductor had a big breakthrough last year. We successfully delivered two Sorter (wafer conveyor) products to Taiwan in August last year, and the goods have already arrived at TSMC. . There are very few domestic equipment manufacturers that can enter the supply chain of TSMC, and Honghu is definitely the first in the transmission circuit. From this point of view, Honghu's products are fully recognized by the market, and there is also the opportunity to make more changes in the future. Many breakthroughs.

In January this year, Honghu (Suzhou) Semiconductor Technology Co., Ltd. and Beijing Zhongdian Electronic Equipment Co., Ltd. held a strategic cooperation signing ceremony in Suzhou.

In the future, Honghu Semiconductor will fully support the research and development and solution of the transmission automation of electronic equipment semiconductor equipment. The two parties will actively leverage their respective advantages in technology, business and resources, and work together to deepen the field of domestic semiconductor equipment, complement each other's advantages, cooperate sincerely, and start a new chapter of development together.

The management team of Honghu Semiconductor and the technical management team of Dianke Equipment conducted in-depth exchanges on the development of localization of semiconductor equipment, industrial policies, personnel training, and local government support. In the future, the two sides will also expand the scope and depth of cooperation in industrial collaboration and supply chain integration.

The "Color Analyzer Evaluation Method" group standard was officially released, creating a new future for precision testing.

The "Color Analyzer Evaluation Method" is based on the "Notice of the Chinese Society of Metrology and Testing on the Announcement of the 2021 Group Standard Project", which was proposed and formulated by the China Metrology and Testing Society. The main drafting units include Wuhan Jingce Electronics Group Co., Ltd. and China Metrology Science Research Institute, Shenzhen China Institute of Metrology Technology Innovation Research Institute, Tianma Microelectronics Co., Ltd. The standard is based on the application scenario of the color analyzer, combined with its key indicators: accuracy, repeatability, stability and other performances for evaluation and regulations. In the form of technical standards, a unified standard is formed for the upstream and downstream of the industry and a strong guarantee for customer experience.

Tan Jiubin, an academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, delivered a speech. He said that precision measurement plays an important role in the field of modern technology and industry. In recent years, our country has achieved a series of important achievements in the field of precision measurement. In the future, I hope everyone Work together to promote the innovation and application of precision measurement technology, and help the leapfrog development of my country's industrial manufacturing.

Liu Ronghua, deputy general manager of Jingce Electronics, Dr. Huang Weidong of China Star Optoelectronics, and Liu Xinmeng, a teacher of China Institute of Metrology, successively made wonderful sharing on display industry technology and product trends, future prospects of metrology and testing, etc. Mr. Chen Chi from China National Institute of Metrology made a detailed interpretation of the evaluation method of "Color Analyzer". Luan Huaixun of Jingce Electronics introduced the product system of Jingce Electronics' self-developed high-precision color analyzer.

So back in November 2022, The US banned Huawei equipment from the US market due to its supposed "security risks."

But fast-forward to today, the US has expressed "concerns" about China's decision to restrict sales of American chips in the Chinese market.

Honestly, this double-faced game being played by the US is getting irritating
The advantages of being the world's sole superpower and most powerful/influential/advanced country on earth overall. So they can afford to fo so to be honest, China not yet.

A couple of comparisons on Various chips. The first one shows Ascend vs Cambrian GPU chips. As you can see, MLU-290 (思元290) is still behind Ascend-910 in most computational measures, but it only consumes half of the power, so that's it's advance. IIRC, MLU-590 is Cambrian's new product and is supposedly better, but they don't have it's numbers anywhere

In second one, this is comparing edge computing AI chips from Nvidia, Ascend and Cambrian. In this case, it seems to me that both Chinese chips do better in terms of computation power per Watt. Important in applications that require such.
As the market has become AI-centric, NVDA is perceived to be the only chip manufacturer, gaining dominance with GPUs at "training AI" but running into competition at "inference AI".
ChatGPT has sucked all the air out of the room and NVDA again dominates although there are also other chips out there.
In 6 months, GSI Technology (GSIT) comes out with first silicon of its Gemini-II chip, and will be a strong alternative to NVDA. Already its Gemini-I outperforms the A-100 and the Gemini-II is a significant improvement of the I, so we'll then see benchmarks of the II vs H100.
You can read about it here in my recent article:

Exclusive | Tech war: China’s top server makers stop orders of memory modules containing Micron chips, sources say

  • The halted orders highlight the immediate impact that China’s Micron ban has already dealt on the largest US memory chip maker
  • Inspur, which is under US trade sanctions, and Lenovo are among the biggest buyers of Micron products
China’s top server makers, including Inspur Group and Lenovo Group, have asked suppliers to suspend shipments of modules containing chips made by US-based Micron Technology, after Beijing

on the firm’s products, according to a supplier with knowledge of the situation.
DRAM chips used in memory modules for servers are a commoditised component that is commonly supplied by Micron and Samsung Electronics, said the source, who declined to be named to protect relationships with clients.
The ban also affects memory module makers and third-party suppliers. Chinese memory module manufacturers would have to change their product portfolios as a result of the Micron ban, Huang Leping, an analyst at Huatai Securities, was quoted as saying in a report on Monday by Chinese magazine Caijing.

But China has with Micron and will start banning more as it increases its ability to "afford" those actions. It's unfortunate.

But the real impact bans China haven't touched yet and that is targeted embargos of rare earths. Yes, you can mine those anywhere but to put the whole processing chain in place would take years if not even longer than it will take China to make up the semicon shortfalls.

Using Indiscriminate sanction only harm oneself, why create a competitor out of thin air, holding these leverages will only increase China Soft power so why waste it and threw it away. ;)

Banning products and distort business rules to cripple the adversary is a loosing proposition in the long term, as US is demonstrating.

China has done the first real action with Micron, and mybe some more will be done, but IMO they will be "defensive" actions, to try to dissuade US from doing worse.

China does not need to revert to this, it would lose geopolitical credibility (what US is losing) and it's a looser thing to do. A leader just accept fair competition, does not use tricks and under the belt punches: this may have some short term advantage, but in the long term you lose your status on the world stage and you just strengthen your adversary instead of weakening it (see huge advances of China in space, weapons and now in semiconductors).
