Allegedly (!!!) the 131st Air Brigade is converting from J-10C to J-20, but it is not the main development here.

The photo is not a real image but sketches by the poster, claiming that CB09220 has appeared.

I have serious doubt whether it is true but many credible sources are re-posting it and add more details on this development like the change of radome.

My doubt:

1. The previous confirmed CB serial number indicated 20 aircraft per batch, so the 220th J-20 should be CB11220 instead of CB09220. However it is possible that each batch extends to 40 from some point of last year.

2. OP is in Chengdu instead of where 131st AB is based.

Well ... change of radome could be - maybe a wild guess! - a hint for the J-20B and the fact that the 131st AB is under conversion is not really new or a surprise. However the new cn. would be one.

But what does this mean?

Referring to their discussion on which unit got J-20 first this year, Foshan or Luliang.

Well, 131st AB is 74x2x and 4th AB is 61x5x. However the OP doesn't mean to say Foshan already got J-20 but this dude misinterpret what OP means.

Also I have corrected myself that the 220th J-20 should be CB10220 instead of CB11220 under 20 per batch assumption, but the mystery still stands.

This doesn't smell right. Just a hunch, but who's the original source and who are re-posting it?

check your math, J-20 serials start at 00xx, so it would be 10220 not 11220. and if China does indeed open a second production line for J-20 then they can easily hit 09220.

Yes, it is exactly why I thought it was made up when I first saw it. But @萌虎鲸 and @拓跋尊 as well as @Quardo30Mbps are all re-posting it and iirc OP is the original source of this J-10 picture.

Just notice he shot another JF-17 as well.

I have corrected myself in the thread above. But it is still not going to be 09220 if they are continuing on previous numerical system.
