Absolute disaster of a meet up. I know there is no plan of selling weapons, but it signals threatening China on Taiwan and ughur issue get you concessions. Even if there are compromise under the table it encourage others to play same card. Unless she gave up something big underneath this is a joke.
That's wishful thinking. Qin Gang messed up here. Westerners need to be educated that if you bring business and polite words like Macron, you'll get a reward like a promise not to send weapons to Russia. And if you bring insults and no business, just give them a book on "core socialist values" and tell them that's better than their much celebrated European values.
These people don't understand being polite, they see it as weakness. China needs to be more blunt when talking to people who obviously have an anti China agenda
It is not about the value of concession but how she asked it. She threatened on a lot of things that should earn her the VDL treatment but not only did that not happen she earned a official promise. Even though China made it clear weapon deal between two sovriegn nation is none of their god damn business.
Just what did she do that earned so much respect both in level of reception and diplomatic gurantee? I wish there are something we dont know that happened. If we took everything at surface level it would be a disaster.
Totally agree with you guys.
This meeting is a complete disaster. Giving any time to this anti-China bitch is a colossal waste of time. And giving a press conference in China? Insanity.
Stop giving meetings to anti-China people! It shows they can earn meetings by trashing China. Don’t reward them like that. The German Chancellor has already visited China a few weeks ago so there is absolutely no reason to give this anti-China woman any meeting whatsoever.
Forget all this 3D chess move talk, that’s just cope. The meeting was a disaster.
Don’t need to respect people that don’t respect you. Chinese foreign ministry made a massive blunder here. After a lot of wins the past few weeks, this was a clear loss.
Hopefully China learns from this mistake and not repeat it in the future.
