China imposed restrictions on Australian coal imports following a bilateral fallout in 2020, but lifted them earlier this year amid improving relations.
In that time, China ramped up thermal coal production – used for power generation – resulting in a large domestic stockpile which would discourage more imports of Australian thermal coal, said data analyst S&P Global Market Intelligence.

Prices of Australian coking coal – which China buys for steel making – were also too high compared with those of local coking coal and stock from neighbouring suppliers such as Mongolia, it added.

Chinese analyst SX Coal said last week in a note that optimism about a big return in Australian imports was low, with Chinese end users and dealers avoiding trading amid high Australian prices.

Chinese buyers were also more cautious about signing long-term deals with Australian miners than they were two years ago because of geopolitical risks, Yang Jie, a coal analyst with information provider YiMei Net, told S&P Global Commodity Insights.

There was a news story a little while back that Kamala Harris felt disrespected by Democrats especially in the White House because when the Vice President enters the room, there's suppose to be some deference given to the Vice President where she was given none. Frankly Kamala Harris going to Africa is like Japan being pitched as alternative to China for international infrastructure loans. Japan doesn't do anything that doesn't have the approval of the US. Japan was just the non-white face of US policies. By how white people think, they see Kamala Harris as even better than Japan as a front for promoting Western rule t Africans. The Democratic establishment probably only sees that as Kamala's value to them because they know sending a white official to lecture Africans is bad optics.

How can one believe it's not an outright diss. I'm sure there's probably a backup but the President flies on the same aircraft but it's called Air Force One when he's in it and Air Force Two when the Vice President is using it.

Every shot of an Army base has a basketball court.
The CV-construction barracks ship's most prominent feature is the top deck basketball court.
Clearly people in China love playing basketball, but there hasn't been anyone even close to the level of Yao Ming.
Even if you consider Yao Ming as a generational talent, there hasn't even been half decent role players from China in the NBA.
There is a 7-4 kid in the NCAA of Chinese descent (partially), he is from Canada. The Chinese population in Canada is roughly 1.5m.
Statistically speaking, that is a fail.

That has to be cap lol. I'm at a healthy 178 cm. So is my younger brother. All his male friends and the rando Chinese students I see are around our height ±10 cm. The only outliers are those who are significantly taller at 190+ cm.
