hi guys, any truth in this news, genuine or fake??
""US radio talk show host Garland Nixon last week wrote on Twitter that sources said US President Joe Biden had warned about the “destruction of Taiwan.”

“BREAKING NEWS: White House insiders leak that, when asked if there could be any greater disaster than the neocon Ukraine project, President Biden responded, wait until you see our plan for the destruction of Taiwan,” Nixon wrote.""

I think he meant it as a joke. Not even Brandon is dumb enough to say stuff like this out loud. That said, destruction of Taiwan is probably something that's planned out, but no one will say it out loud.

I had a doubt that once china have strong domestic semiconductor supply chain. I think china will be able to impose embargoes on Taiwan economy like US did in Cuba.
Is this how china peaceful reunification will occur?

If there is a greater American threat, then blockade and embargo as a response from China is just a matter of time.

If there is a war over Taiwan, an extended Chinese blockade is likely to determine the outcome. While a blockade might include intercepting ships at sea, the primary focus would be on sealing airfields and ports, particularly on the west coast of Taiwan. China could sustain that type of blockade indefinitely. Penetrating a prolonged blockade and keeping Taiwan alive would require a serious U.S. investment in systems and operational concepts that we currently do not have. Unless we make that investment, we may win the first battle, defeating an attempted landing. But we cannot win the war.

Taiwan's defence spending this year will focus on preparing weapons and equipment for a "total blockade" by China, including parts for F-16 fighters and replenishing weapons, the military said in a report.

In "anticipation of a total blockade of the Taiwan Strait", spending this year would include replenishment of artillery and rocket stocks, and parts for F-16 fighters "to strengthen combat continuity", the ministry said.

The ministry also said it would include prioritise funding in the budget this year for major U.S.-made weapons, including Stinger anti-aircraft missiles, and M142 High Mobility Artillery Rocket System (HIMARS) mobile rocket launchers.

i am quite puzzeled by what the author said in the report

"The Chinese integrated air defense system is a key enabler for Chinese forces in this battle...If the air defenses were down, U.S. airpower could help protect warships and cargo ships from attack, and Chinese airpower would be a correspondingly smaller factor"

why is this???
