Beauty gurus across Japan are going potty for styles of make-up made famous by starlets from China. The boom began four years ago with the break-out success of a look known as Chiborg. That combines the words for China and cyborg; it aims to make young faces seem preternaturally chiselled. More trendy now is chunyu (pure desire), which involves trying to look alluring and innocent all at once. Chinese celebrities have beauty “on another level”, says Nanako (pictured), a 24-year-old Japanese woman who also has lots of followers online.
Enthusiasm for these styles is driving up sales in Japan of Chinese brands of cosmetics, such as Florasis and zeesea. Older Japanese have long avoided Chinese products, which they consider inferior. But their children are less likely to assume this, with some justification. For years Japan had the world’s second-most-valuable market for cosmetics, after America; the Chinese market outgrew it in 2019. China’s make-up firms have grown more competent, and more inventive, as their sales have ballooned.
Tensions over disputed islands and Taiwan have poisoned ties between Japan and China in recent years. But unlike the trade in products such as semiconductors, which governments seek to control, cosmetics are “apolitical”, says Goto Yasuhiro of Asia University in Tokyo. Behind the rows, he says, youth cultures in Japan, China and South Korea are growing increasingly alike.
A survey in 2021 suggested that more than 40% of Japanese aged 18-29 feel “affinity” towards China, compared with only 13% among those in their 60s and 70s. Sugai Fumihito, who works for an outpost of the Beijing Language and Culture University in Tokyo, says many youngsters studying Mandarin at his institution cite Chinese make-up as a reason for their interest. “I never imagined a day when Japanese consider Chinese to be ‘cool’,” he says. “Lots of Japanese have started to admire Chinese people,” echoes Ms Chang. “That’s thanks to Chinese make-up.”■7

When the Opium Wars are taught in Anglo classrooms like in Australia, a big deal is made over Qianlong's letter to the British Crown to "tremblingly obey" as an indication of how out of touch the Qing were with the more technologically advanced British, and also to have a cheap guffaw at 'these upstarts Chinese don't know what's coming to them'.

Fast forward to the modern age, and the Anglos are now 'demanding answers' to the Chinese:

I should tell the people here they would be worshiped in Taiwan. Most are 100% Dutch after all. Also, my girlfriend is a citizen of both China and the Netherlands. Does that count in Taiwan? What if she became a SeeSeePee member? Would that cause blue screen on people like this?

BTW how do you even have a 1/78 ancestry of something? 78 is 2 * 3 * 13. Yes, 13.

Reality is probably this — 102 percent Southern Chinese with 2 percent margin of error.

If arrogance is similar to light source, then looking at the arrogance of the US-led QUAD (bar New Zealand) is like looking directly at the Sun in the clear blue sky at mid-day with naked eyes.

I am convinced the ultimate goal of these white supremacists is to use biowarfare (especially race specific) to significantly reduce China’s 1.4 billion population. The racists think the large population is the ultimate threat to their murderous hegemony. US military biolabs Russia discovered in Ukraine proves the US thinks biowarfare is their best option. These US military biolabs are all surrounding Russia and China. Biological weapons gives plausible deniability which chemical weapons and nuclear weapons can’t give while achieving extreme destruction. This is why both China and Russia need their own biowarfare programs as a deterrence similar to nuclear weapons program as a deterrence.

Biotechnology in general, I think. Bioweapons for deterrence, but also the ability to make vaccines fast and better technology to identify and quarantine populations instantaneously. As world population grows more and more highly infectious diseases will naturally appear.

Biotechnology is one of the technologies the US military is concentrating on. No surprise why.

I believe it's probably the only one China doesn't have a firm lead on, too. Biotech naturally takes longer due to having to observe results through real life clinical trials on animals and humans. China needs to figure out how to use its other strengths to boost this area, such as using quantum computers for simulations.

Still up until now, there hasn't been a virus that targets the Chinese gene or Russian gene specifically and if the Covid was an attempt to do such a thing to China, not only did that fail, but fail miserably because virus's will ultimately mutate and target everyone equally. I don't think Russia or China is going to let these Biolabs remain in existence forever, especially when the time comes that both nations would want to have a valid excuse to use what ever drastic measure to bring the USA down while encouraging their people not to feel bad when millions of Americans face the inevitable. I mean would anyone feel bad if someone got blown up and the victim is a bio terrorist that wants to murder everyone simply because they want to feel superior
