it’s actually highly likely NL impose ban on everything more advanced than the high-end ArFi like NXT2010 (including EUV) while allowing sales of the NXT1980D/E/F and other ‘dry’ DUV scanners
If what we think about Chinese duv scanners is true and indeed we are close to mass production, then if ASML makes that move is better to ban then wholly. Let the machines who were ordered come, and the machines recently bought should be enough for 1 of 2 years of expansion. In 2024 Chinese duv maybe should be good enough at ASML 1980 level for mass production?

Life was not better back then, people in rural and urban areas are as happy or miserable as they were in the 80s. Its just because of technological advancement since the 80s the same amount of labor can afford a better material condition. The same pressure are still their today as they were in the 80s.

Korean Dongjin Semichem succeed in localizing EUV photoresist, breaking the Japanese monopoly. It took one year from reliability verification to volume production, this gives an idea of the effort required to localize for semiconductor manufacturing.
