I don't have medical training, but I have a feeling that is a candidate for at least partial amputation.Trench foot among AFU troops. Apparently it's starting to case non-combat losses.
No go back to trenches anymore , at least.

I think its a language/translation issue. It would be weird to only be talking about officer deaths.
100,000 dead Ukrainians , including injured it is around 400,000 total casualties. Military age males are the primary resource of any country, they are responsible for lions share economic activity. Even if the war ended now Ukraine will need hundreds of thousands of guest workers for their economy to remain economically competitive.
Assuming Russia keeps this up for a few years Ukraine will cease to exist one way or the other.
That's barely trench foot. I've had worst feet after trail running.
I doubt it is a translation issue, Offiziere is basically like Officers, so either she meant officers or her brain had a schizo relapse that moment.
An explanation I read in another tweet is that an "officer" in Ukraine is anyone who graduated out of any of the military academies of the country regardless of the rank they get, which could explain the high number and the use of the word.
Probably the latter in that case. Or she's another dumb EU politician who doesn't know the difference between a soldier and officer.I doubt it is a translation issue, Offiziere is basically like Officers, so either she meant officers or her brain had a schizo relapse that moment.
100%. Once those boots come off, they aren't going to fit anymore. If you have two full days of military training outside in the woods without chance to change socks or boots, your feet will look kinda like this after walking 60-80 km in total.
Therefore it is important to always rest when possible and let air to your feet/ change socks. But sometimes in war situation you dont have the luxury to do that.
Funny thing is, as long as you dont put off the boots in such situation it only hurts a little, if you put them off the foot starts to swell and you basically have to rest before continuing.
Or she's another dumb EU politician who doesn't know the difference between a soldier and officer.
No she does not. Worst Defense Minister ever. She comes from a long esteemed family of professional politicians. She was the German Defense Minister for 6 years. One would expect her to have a clue.
Steel is much much more dense, every kilo a soldier carries around should have a reason, and as some posters said, they dont have the tech to produce plates from lightweight materials, while retaining ballistic protection.
You will feel the difference marching 30 km with 20 kg or with 15kg very fast.
