Before anyone get too excited about this, the wafer output of planned Arizona fab will be 10% of eventual total output at 5nm and 3nm. I don’t think you could consider this as US dismantling anything.

In almost every product, you don't start out with high quality components, then build equipment from high quality components. It is always first make a finished product with low quality or imported components, then localize and increase quality from there.

funny you mention that. If you recognize this to be the norm, how do you support any claim that the fist immersion scanner SMEE ever build could be good enough to already support 28nm HVM, on its first attempt no less? just curious what your latest assessment is on SMEE?

China's attempts to build a complete semicon supply chain are entirely the result of American sanctions NOT because it has a policy of maximum self reliance.

Therefore because of America, China is pursuing a policy of maximizing self reliance.
