The question is will America use Cymer to bend their will?
Not sure how US could use Cymer against ASML.

In almost every product, you don't start out with high quality components, then build equipment from high quality components. It is always first make a finished product with low quality or imported components, then localize and increase quality from there.
funny you mention that. If you recognize this to be the norm, how do you support any claim that the fist immersion scanner SMEE ever build could be good enough to already support 28nm HVM, on its first attempt no less? just curious what your latest assessment is on SMEE?

Before anyone get too excited about this, the wafer output of planned Arizona fab will be 10% of eventual total output at 5nm and 3nm. I don’t think you could consider this as US dismantling anything.
But we should be prepared for that eventuality.

Even if Morris Chang and English Vegetable aren't stupid enough to allow that, Washington DC would eventually force them to.
