I feel sad for the innocent students. Many overseas students they don´t care about politics. Otherwise they would choose another country than China. China would also gets benefit from these students, when they return to their country. The majority of the students have a positive mind about China, after their time in China.

The nightmare scenario for the democrats is if they secure some meaninglessly light sentence against Trump with a tiny amount of jail time and he dies in jail. That will probably be enough to kick off civil war 2.0 right then and there.

Trump dying in prison will likely just be another stone towards implosion because the MAGA crowd still has DeSantis as an alternative. But the 2024 election results will be a cause for major tension regardless who wins given the divide will keep growing.
