Don't get me wrong, this is still a stupid and irresponsible stunt that Pelosi pulled. And in a few months any good publicity this stunt has generated will evaporate as the looming midterms approach.

However, SPAR19 will be remembered for a long time within China, like 81192, Yinhe, and Embassy bombing.

Am an Indian and not her follower or anything. Two points. She is bold and gutsy, no doubt about it. Second as I said in my earliest post, China is no where ready to take on the US militarily.

The Chinese posters here are generally quite arrogant, and forget that the US has been numero uno since 1945. And the pronouncements by the Chinese official spokespersons only made things worse. It will take time to reach a truly multi-polar world.

For those like me sitting out and watching, it was a nice, tense, entertaining drama. And the best thing about it, no lives were lost.

I am repeating. China never pledged to do anything to Pelosi's aircraft. It is far far too early to make an analysis. People are using jingoistic phrases all over the place because China didn't do something it never pledged to do in the first place. Then we have people cursing at each other. We have people talking about a Russian-Finnish war...

All of these extremely emotional responses especially from all of these "just hatched"s and "new member"s tell me it's time to log off for a day or so. This thread became Twitter-like. If I was a mod I'd lock the thread temporarily.

No attempted interception shows low readiness of the PLAAF. They were not prepared for the path her plane took. If they anticipated passing over the SCS, or going down north from Japan, which is what it looked like with the CBG deployments, then they have failed.

Going from east side of Taiwan was more difficult but what should have happened were fighters in the air with refuelers nearby covering the entry path.

This is a major humiliation for the PLA. It shows that either morale or readiness is at a bottom.

The only thing entertaining or dramatic about this was reading the silly comments here.

The internet has really destroyed the human brain
