I for one am extremely “excited” to see what is going to happen in China’s social media. The sheer amount of censorship is going to be insane.

I think some of you need to calm down. Pelosi's plane has barely landed and you've already got the knives out. Have some patience....

Here's what should happen. First declare a no fly zone so no one can get in or out. Then notify America that China takes Pelosi's actions as an official visit to Taiwan hence an abrogation to previous agreements to seek peaceful reunification. Taiwan's airspace and waters are now closed to America and any violation will be considered an act of war.

Then...war

And it will lead to war, which is suboptimal because there will be much greater bloodshed in the future.

Personally, I don't care much about Pelosi's visit. In addition, shooting down Pelosi's plane is never on the table and an unwise. It is just that why China made a fuss over this in the last few days but didn't carry out actions to back it up. It looks bad and weak. Now, it is up to China to demonstrate resolve in the next weeks and months.

I would rather the Chinese government and media tone down the rhetoric to begin with. And take concrete and strong actions after Pelosi's visit which China would have much more room to maneuver.

I'm not sure the pro (being able to continue saying china is committed to peace) is worth the con.

That isn't the pro. The pro is forestalling a war until China is ready for it. What about that is so difficult to understand?
