@weig2000 Bro he , Ren ZhengFei of Huawei, Li Shufu of Geely, Zhang Ruimin of Haier don't need a Western MBA to be successful, in fact without having a Western education is the reason for their success. Western MBA is an initiation to enter a fraternity, you learned to hassle people to earned your stripe.
Yes, some of China's brightest and the best, such as the chief designer of J-20, and the vast majority of China's top scientists and engineers who work for the arms industries probably never studied overseas.

Chinese suppliers are already vying for the future market of sodium, semi-solid-state, and solid-state batteries.

NIO got a nice bump in its stock valuation when the news of ES7 release came out. Should be happening on the 15th.

This is the part that should scare everyone. Now, Huawei is making cars with Sokon, Chery and JAC. And we know Baidu is making cars with Geely. Every Chinese automakers that can't move fast enough to adopt the fast changes of autonomous driving is going to have to basically become a junior partner/manufacturer of these 2 tech Goliath.

From Musk, Tesla is not worth anything if it can't get FSD problem solved.
I think Tesla knows this from seeing the pace of movement in the Chinese auto market.

I think BYD is also really alarmed by this Huawei/Baidu moves. They do not want to just be a battery company or a car manufacturer. They want to be the greatest auto company in the world. It would be hard to do that if they cannot have a competitive autonomous driving feature in their cars. The next 2 years will tell us whether or not BYD can do that. BYD does not have the luxury of Tesla still having the Western market all to itself for a couple of years.

More news of BYD Atto 3 (Yuan+ EV) entering Indian market next year. Again, only E6 has entered Indian market thus far.

Huawei Launches the Next-Generation FusionCharge 40 kW DC Charging Module at EVS35

[Oslo, Norway, June 13, 2022] Huawei Digital Power launched its next-generation FusionCharge 40 kW DC Charging Module at the 35th International Electric Vehicle Symposium & Exhibition (EVS35). This reliable, low-noise, and highly efficient charging module is expected to become the core of electric vehicle (EV) charging facilities, so users can enjoy a better charging experience while operators and carriers save on charging facility O&M costs. The core values of Huawei FusionCharge's new-generation 40 kW DC charging module are as follows:

Reliable: The potting and isolation technologies ensure long-term reliable running in harsh environments with an annual failure rate of less than 0.2%. In addition, the product supports intelligent O&M and over the air (OTA) remote upgrade, eliminating the need for site visits.

Efficient: The product is 1% more efficient than the industry average. If a 120 kW charging pile is equipped with Huawei's charging module, about 1140 kWh of electricity can be saved each year.

Quiet: Huawei's charging module is 9 dB quieter than the industry average. When it detects reduced temperatures, the fan automatically adjusts the speed to reduce noise, making it suitable for noise-sensitive areas.

Versatile: Rated EMC Class B, the module can be deployed in residential areas. At the same time, its wide voltage range allows charging for different vehicle models (voltages).

Nio es7 live event. Looks nice. The older es6, es8 and ec6 are also getting upgraded models.

Norway may sales are out.
Polestar is 8th at 474 unit.
Mg is 12th at 424
Byd is 15th at 265
Hongqi is 21st at 140
Nio 25th at 79
Xpeng 31st at 36

Byd global had a tweet this morning that they sold 1200 byd yuan plus so far in costa Rica. Very impressive when you consider how small Costa Rica is and how long yuan plus has actually been available. This is already a sales record for byd in Latin America. They have been the top selling nev maker in Costa Rica for 3 years in a row.

Byd seal deliveries start in july and will reach 10k a month by September. Still too low for the long wait list they have. Looks like assembly has already started on d9. They are planning to open up many denza stores this month. So, they are moving reasonably fast here.

Nio ES7 launched. It's the first EV certified to tow RVs in China.

BYD will start production in Hefei factory phase 1 in June and reach peak production rate by September.

More on Denza details.
- reached 20000 orders
- plan to launch in major core markets in June/July
- Order to be confirmed in July for delivery in late August
- Setting up a lot of sales channel with 68 cities initially and will expand to 117 cities by the end of phase 1 (end of 2022?) -> very fast expansion.

BYD Atto 3 is finally arriving in Australia and it's getting nice review

BYD and other Chinese bus makers are trialing in the Jakarta market. BYD has already delivered 30 buses and they have passed the trials. If Indonesia is moving to all electric bus by 2030, that will be a huge market for BYD. A lot of the developing countries are probably larger bus markets than PV markets for EV makers in the next few years.
