. I had to wait for the enemy artillery to zero in, then use the trajectory of the shells to determine their position and transmit it to my own artillery to engage them before they fired from all guns. M777 does not have to zero in, because the first shot is on target.
That's a 1960s system, technology has changed in the past 60 years.

... In total, 165 Ukrainian aircraft and 125 helicopters, 845 unmanned aerial vehicles, 304 anti-aircraft missile systems, 3,039 tanks and other armored combat vehicles, 369 multiple launch rocket systems, 1,498 field artillery and mortars, as well as 2,882 units of special military vehicles were destroyed during the operation ...
So that's roughly the amount of arms that Ukraine needs to be supplied every 2½ months in order to equip its soldiers? I think that's doable.

Tanks and helicopters need people to operate them. Are you going to be sending those over as well?

The helicopter that got downed had the deputy naval commander on board. They must be running low on helicopter pilots if they're pulling in such high ranks for operations.

According to this, a single M1A1 takes 5 months to manufacture with a throughput of 8 per month. You can hire a few hundred skilled technicians to get it up to 34 per month. This is the only tank manufacturer in the US.

For Ukraine and friends with together more than 1 billion people should be a way for more and better supply of replacement weapons than for Russia with 140 million people.

The Lima plant has not manufactured any tanks for many, many years. All they do is refurbish tanks. But the US has several thousand M1s mothballed which the Lima plant can refurbish and upgrade. But the thing guzzles fuel. Good luck supporting those tanks in a conflict close to the Russian border. No, I think Poland will continue sending their T-72s to Ukraine, and even the PT-91 if it comes to that. And the US will have to come up with M1 tanks for Poland to replace those.

most of those 1 billion have militaries on the scale of Croatia which failed to detect a 1960's uncontrolled drone, Romania which crashed a Mig-21 then crashed a helicopter looking for the crashed Mig-21, etc. On top of that, most just import US weapons so its actually 300 million vs. 140 million. this is a lesson that Chinese learned long ago: having people is great but without organization its just a loose heap of sand.

Yeah. Some people even come up with cockamamie ideas that Romania would invade Transnistria. Their army is crap. If they did invade and pushed the Russian peacekeepers out of there, then God help them. Even the T-62s the Russians have which are supposed to be scrapped would be better than the tanks they have. The Poles right now have one of the best land armies in NATO Europe. Yes, the Poles. Ukraine actually had a large land army by modern NATO standards. Like I said, second only to the US or Turkey. And ahead of Poland. Yup.

If the Russians slowly ground down all the equipment NATO is sending to Ukraine, then mobilized, pulled hundreds of tanks and equipment out of storage, I think they would stop around the French border at best. If not in Lisbon. If that did happen I think NATO would use tactical nukes. They would have to really.
