Japan is more like 10% of Chinese GDP now. Japan exports (with trade deficits) are 1/5 of China but its domestic consumption far smaller.
Ukraine is also 10% of Russian GDP at current prices.

latest update from Pentagon is over 600 Iskander/Klibr. this approaching General Tommy Franks Shock and Awe from 2003.

Difference of course is that's a week's worth from Russia. The US did that the first DAY in 2003.

first day was i think 320 TLAMs. but for whole week it will be similar numbers.
so far there is no evidence Tu-160/Tu-95 has joined them in boosting the numbers.

Oh please. Russia's 6000 nukes ain't enough against a non-nuclear, much smaller power? That's some superhero level paranoia right there.
Paranoia is common among imperialist powers.

When the USA invaded Grenada (which US propaganda portrayed as a dire threat to US national security) in 1983,
the US media ran lurid headlines about many thousands of dangerous Cuban troops on the island when, in fact,
there were only several hundred Cuban construction workers with some military training and light weapons.
US propaganda acted almost as if the US forces had stormed Iwo Jima.

condemned it [US invasion of Grenada] as "a flagrant violation of international law"
by a vote of 108 to 9, with 27 abstentions."

At a meeting sponsored by a 'liberal' Jewish organization, I heard a man say that, if he was an Israeli soldier in the occupied
West Bank and noticed a Palestinian boy holding a stone, then he would immediately shoot to kill him because the stone
was potentially a deadly weapon. He said that everyone sane would agree, and no one dared to speak out against him.

Afterward, a friend of mine (a non-Zionist Jew) said that she strongly disagreed with him but felt too intimidated to speak out.
She's never been married (not that she's looking). She said that her racist brother (an ardent Zionist) told her to emigrate to China.
When she (an ethnic German Jew who does not speak Chinese) asked why, he said:
"You should go to China because you're a Communist and it's your best chance to get a husband.
You're not good enough for a white man, but there might be a Chinaman who would take you."
I suggested that she send photos of herself with a Chinese man in order to give her brother something to wonder about.

320 TLAMs, yes*. CALCMS (AGM-86) were used as well but I couldn't find any numbers. I saw the 500+ figure earlier today but for the life of me can't find it. Ah, here it is. This week's Aviation Week:

*The 320 number was from an older source, and just TLAMs. The additional could be a more accurate count available in the ensuing years and/or the addition of the CALCMs (AGM-86C/Ds).

Huh, based on what?
I can only say that people around where I live in the West are very aware of the risk of nuclear war (and Mutual Assured Destruction), especially those 40+ old who remember the cold war and the threat posed by the Soviet Union.
Seeing the large number of people calling for direct military intervention, attacks on Russia and even calls to assassinate Putin. People seem to be oblivious to the fact that any of those actions will lead to nuclear war.

The age factor you alluded to is the reason why. Millenianials and zoomers have not had to live under the threat of nuclear war.

Can you list your sources for such incidences? I have never heard of them before.
The first that I heard of Soviet misbehavior in Manchuria or China in 1945 was from a late relative, a veteran of the war.
Given my youth, he tended to avoid graphic details, yet he clearly seemed aware of many terrible occurrences.

For a published book in English (which has different titles for the UK and US editions), Max Hastings wrote
_Nemesis: The Battle for Japan 1944-45_ or _Retribution: The Battle for Japan 1944-45_
It has a chapter about the USSR's war on Japan in 1945, including describing some Soviet war crimes against Chinese.

Russian culture (chess, literature, mathematics, music) was a significant influence of my upbringing.
Yet I can criticize Russian imperialism and respect or sympathize with peoples who fought against it.
