From what I've heard from Chinese sources, Pakistanis pilots have been training on the J-10C for at least a year before aircraft delivery. The aircraft could actually have been delivered earlier had it not been stringent COVID control in Chengdu, which hindered pilot training. Impact on actual airframe construction has been minimal.

Is it because China has not exported Chinese flankers because of Russia's unhappiness? Otherwise, China can export part of J-11B or directly export J-11D.

Really? There was a contract with a very clear no-export clause and even if China interpret this contract in a bit different way to Russia, so far they stuck to this obligation and I'm almost 100% sure, they will keep it.

As such all these ideas China would sell Flankers - be that J-11B, J-11D, J-15 or even J-16 - are IMO plain ridiculous.

changing the subject a bit, are you referring previous j11bg as j11d now, or you mean newly produced airframe as j11d?
is the plaaf really purchasing new j11d airframes?
There's speculation about the new J11D (few blurry photos), Shenyang's new fighter to replace aging air superiority J-11A's created via digesting or Chinese interpretation of Su-35. Likely incorporating technologies from J16 and J20. An interesting factor to note, from outer layout wise, we saw the Chinese moved the IRST from centre to side. Lets see if the newest J11D ditched dorsal air brake following Su-35's footstep.

I think it was the EW performance of the JF17s that basically made all the IAF aircraft, including their vaunted MKIs, blind and deaf that was the main deciding factor.

I think before that the PAF always had some doubts in the back of their minds about how well Chinese weapons’ paper specs would translate into real world results. Hence they were hedging their bets retaining F16s as well as JF17s despite all the political limitations the Americans put on their F16s.

Those doubts were erased by the performance of the JF17s, and now that the PAF knows that Chinese hardware can deliver against top enemy opponents, they were finally willing to bite the bullet and get the J10.

The Indian Rafales would have also been a factor, as would the PL15 (if it’s even part of the deal). But I think the real world performance of the JF17s was the key factor.

no that was the Blinder squadron using Dassault Falcon 20 which is really the unsung hero of 27th Feb 2019

as the saying goes but Pakistan has never operated a twin engined fighter! and as such would not opt for any type of Flanker variant especially since IAF is operating 100s of them

J10C with TVC WS10B is really as good as it gets

Oh come on ... there is NO chance to get "J10C with TVC WS10B"! That's really simply ridiculous to think and at best the lowest PDF-fan-boy-level.

Why would you need tvc. I would want reliable and engine with acceptable service intervals. You don't want to get into wvr fights with MKi and rafales anyway. Just get an early detection, lock and launch using pl15e.
