Theranos of EVs

I wouldn’t say that, Rivian has a working vehicle. What can you do when the hype beasts blow your stock up?

Cursory analysis will tell anyone that it’s dangerous. Tesla Model S basically had no peer for years, and to a certain extent still has limited competition as a EV sedan. Rivian will be taking on the 800 lb. Gorilla that is the F-150 as soon as 6 months after the first Rivian is delivered. This alone should be a huge warning, but seemingly unheeded. Compounding this is the fact that Rivian will be busy trying to build out a dealer and service center network at the same time, while Ford is ready to go. Rivian could still challenge with a compelling product. Early reviews are positive, but then again, so are the early F-150 reviews…

Anyway you can’t blame the company for being overhyped. All the signs are there for anyone to see, they aren’t overselling themselves, certainly not to the point of fraud. Even if they were, you can’t blame them, the CEO was raped or something… (pardon the crude reference)
