I don't know why any well-informed thinking mind HERE will attach too much weight to the action of such small Baltic state (2.8 million population), a NATO member with its rabid anti-Russia stance, and a poster country of George Soros, and like Australia and Canada, is another fawning acolyte of Washington's interests. If Australia with way bigger economic relationship with China is willing to sacrifice its economic interests by articulating such a rabid anti-China policies and actions, then what to question on Lithuania, a country having much less economic link with China! I just don't see such importance with any action taken by such small state! Some noises, yes! Impact? Almost nonexistent! Thing is pretty simple, in today's world, if Vilnius becomes not friendly, then Beijing just returns the favor!
@windsclouds2030 that's right bro, Lithuania is far away from China to be a threat, its geopolitical insignificant and economic irrelevant and China is shaking in its boots...LOL. Bro Singapore which is smaller than Lithuania carried more weight and they just declare neutral after Kamala Harris visit, Now that's a big WIN for China cause the much hype AMERICA IS BACK is not being welcome in the region.

It is that relevant fact that had gone unnoticed.

The RCEP had to be ratified before it goes into effect, right on brother.

Obviously the United States would try to undermine the RCEP.

So ... what happens?

The United States does have friends in the region.

Their friends, Singapore, Japan, Thailand, all ratified the RCEP very quickly, and before anyone else would.

Thereby Singapore, Japan, Thailand, would avoid awkward situations in the future.

Maybe that is why the Liberal media is counting on that Luther country?

And it looks like the conservatives may form the next government in Canada. All that Justin groveling and bending over backwards to the U.S. didn't do Jack shit in helping his election chances. Now the cu. T that is O'toole will not only produce 1 million new jobs by standing up to one of their biggest trading partner and consumer that is China. How in the f.. Ng world is he going to live up to that insane promise?

I'm surprised you still expect politicians to live up to their campaign promises. It should be pretty clear by now that your vote isn't worth the paper it's printed on.

Australian naval ship HMAS Diamantina is stuck in Vanuatu and might need to be towed back for repair. The ship was only deployed last month in Vanuatu for so-called for maritime patrol. Another patrol boat donated to Samoa is also stuck.
Looks like the cost of maintaining the South Pacific hegemony will increase.

@KenC and their chief source of revenue had been cut, what a way to run a country and they call themselves MODERN WESTERN SOCIETY...LOL. The West with its WOKENESS ideology is destroying the fabric of its society from the inside, Now I understand XI current reforms to put a screen in the window against those bad influence to dialed back and bring forth conservative values that define the Chinese, focusing on Family ( 3child policy and education reform) the society (dismantling the monopolies) and nation building with Chinese characteristic.

This reminds me of how even when the Nazis came into power, the Wehrmacht were still on the whole, suspicious and detached from the rest of the SS and SA; this disconnect would lead to the General's Mutiny.
Are we seeing a similar General's Mutiny against the natsec white supremacist types in USG?
I can only hope.

I do, of course. (and I meant to include your name in the overreaction apology above).

Let’s suppose someone did want to try that trick with Germany, there is an election in 2 weeks, could it be influenced? probably not, but I am sure some think otherwise.

Anyway, if Germany does it, or significantly changes their position then China might as well just give up with the EU and focus on rest of the world. They are good at creating markets where they didn’t exist before.

China cares about what Germany thinks and really wants to earn their respect and trust, as equals, it’s a major prize and validation of sorts, and it should naturally happen.

We cower, 1.4 billion of us, below the almighty German. How can we hope to compete against a $4 trillion GDP with 2% growth rates.

I don't know where you guys get this arrogance from but it's weird and unbecoming. China is desperate to earn Germany's respect? Since when? It wouldn't make a lick of sense to anyone who has lived in China in the last few years.

Anything with even a subtle association to the Anglo world is getting trashed. If Germans want any respect they need to disavow that shared heritage ASAP. Otherwise the China of 2050 won't care to avoid grouping them in with that coalition of imperialist sociopaths, and the Germans will be cursing their luck for all time as to why they didn't just bite the bullet and ally with China.

BS. Woodward is trying to sell his book again. The chair of JCS tells General Li ZuoCheng that the US is not going to attack China without advanced notice; "its not going to be a surprise", the chairman said.

Then it says General Li Zuocheng took the chairman at his word. Does anybody actually believe this in this BS.
