I know Forbes has become garbage drivel only slightly better than the Daily Mail but I had to post this. Literally every single 'fact' wrong, then even stoops as low as calling Chinese people low IQ.

I was shocked by this statement. Is there any proof to this? Sounds ridiculous to believe so many kids are stunted to this level of significance that they are almost at India's level. I looked at the authors name assuming it must be Gordon Chang, noticed her last name is Yang and thought oh well just another self-hating Chinese but....

Despicable. Can you imagine some White women writing about stunted low-IQ Black or Indian children? They would be cancelled and lynched.

Personally I don't mind these types of articles. It's so blatantly wrong that it's laughable. We know the reality of the situation is opposite of the article but the average US citizen does not. Basically a feel good piece for the US to make them think they are still superior. Maybe she's the new Gordon! One can only hope she can delude more of the population.

Let's keep these articles coming. Keeps them feeling superior and and in the dark and underestimate China. While China continues to advance faster then they can imagine.

Today our ZB Newstalk anti china talkback host interviewed Desmond Shum, the author of the book "Red Roulette"

Red Notice a memoir from a man who rose within the ranks of China’s ultra-rich only to see his business partner-wife mysteriously disappear.

An insider's story of wealth, power, corruption and vengeance in today's China.

In the interview, he said his wife who disappeared, suddenly emerges and implores him not to publish "Red Roulette."
He also warns NZ'ders to be careful of China.

Desmond Shum, who was born in Shanghai and raised in Hong Kong, developed the largest air cargo logistics facility in China, the Beijing Airport Cargo Terminal. He also led the development of the Bulgari Hotel in Beijing. In addition, starting in the early 2000s, he was an early pioneer of philanthropy in China, gifting extensively both domestically and internationally.

Does anyone here know of him and other than drinking "Western Cool Aid", how he fell out with the leadership?

Another brilliant rejoinder by a butt hurt American, suggesting that for their humiliation of their own making they suffered in Afghanistan, America must in turn create another failed state to teach Pakistan a lesson. Genius!! Here's my favorite paragraph from the butt hurt piece.

"As Pakistan not only turns away from the United States but, through its Taliban proxies and China, tries to humiliate Washington, a new generation of American strategists, policymakers, and intelligence professionals may reconsider the redlines that have governed bilateral ties since the Truman administration. Bangladesh, after all, split away from Pakistan and is now a stable and moderate country. It is increasingly conceivable that a new generation of U.S. policymakers less trustful of Islamabad and less concerned with Pakistani sensibilities may question whether it would be a U.S. interest for Balochistan to follow suit."

Did this new generation of US policymakers think Tom Clancy was a documentary about the modern world?
It appears this new generation of US policymakers are detached from reality, prone to religious ideology and anglo chauvinism and white supremacy.
If Biden decides to give increased diplomatic recognition to Taiwan, he risks lighting the touchpaper to war with China

By Tom Fowdy, 13 Sep 2021

Last week Biden called Xi Jinping. My analysis of that event was that it was a political blow to Biden, as he had been pushed into it by Beijing demanding respect and leveraging contact. The political fallout of having that conversation has since been obvious domestically in America.

Just the following day a series of hawkish proposals got leaked to the Financial Times, claiming that the Foreign Minister of Taiwan Joseph Wu was in America for ‘secret’ talks over the potential renaming of Taipei's representative office in the United States (its de facto embassy) to include the name ‘Taiwan’ – a move which the Baltic state of Lithuania pursued earlier this year, drawing the ire of Beijing. The Financial Times article claims that Washington, DC is contemplating a similar move, but the catch is that it would have to be done via an executive order. It’s the president’s choice.

Also on the same day, another proposal was leaked, stating that the administration was seeking to escalate its trade war and tariffs against China. It is likely just noise, but the pattern and timing of these emergence is obvious. These hawkish proposals suddenly hit the press for several reasons: firstly as a face-saving means for the administration so as to not to be seen as ‘soft’ on China; secondly, they were likely leaked by hawkish members of the administration who want to undermine engagement between Washington and Beijing, and hope the radical proposals ‘set the agenda’ and provoke China. Kurt Campbell, Biden’s ‘Asia Tsar’, is undoubtedly one of the suspects here.

It is a typical MO (Modus Operandi) in Washington insider games: to float their agendas in the media and hope to capture the public mood. Such tactics were frequently deployed during the Trump administration, where, despite the White House taking a hard line with China, individuals such as Mike Pompeo, Peter Navarro and Matthew Pottinger all occasionally pushed far more radical proposals via the media.

Thus while these Biden administration proposals may not actually happen, they all go towards illustrating the political constraints and realities the president faces. He has effectively been boxed into a confrontational policy towards Beijing, even if he doesn't want it personally. This makes de-escalation of tensions very difficult.

Neocons Undermine Biden on China Ties. Brief Media on Taiwan Talks, Beijing Threatens War

By Alexander Mercouris, 13 Sep 2021

Apparently it's kurt campbell having an axe to grind along with:
Matty boy here is a classic sexpat who got mad that he got beat up at a bar. T man's administration had a China policy literally dictated by jealous sexpats like Matty P and con artists like Ron Vara. What did you think it was gonna be?
this Sexpat. It's because of these two dweebs that i still favour the Old Ways: let biden prove his sincerity by presenting the heads of the War Party to Beijing.

Jap coast guard getting its ass kicked is also an embarassment to the white imperial empire, which japan is part of and serves, this is something the empire wants to hide as much as possible. Don't bother searching the western fake news for the truth.

You still have that reflex of seeking Western sources for confirmation.

Yes I should know better. I don't know what came over me. Brrrrr. I need a cold shower.

Yes that's what throw me. I saw that report, and then search for western source to confirm. Otherwise it could be fake news.

I just couldn't find it anywhere. So I assumed it was fake news. Alas no, it looks ligit, and the West is not reporting it. That got me thinking. Why? Are they planning for something big? I doubt the Japs would sail into diaoyutai without permission of their masters.
They are not saying anything because otherwise this is a perfect case that should have been covered under US-Japan Security Treaty article 5. If Diaoyu Islands really are Japanese territory than since China have annexed it surely the US needs to do something or that security treaty is not worth the paper its written on.

Once you realise this then it's only a tiny leap to apply the same logic to US vaguely saying they will defend Taiwan, only in this case there isn't any paper signed at all.

Why aren’t the Chinese press reporting it?

Someone already posted in PLAN breaking news thread, but I thought it's worth mentioning it here too. That's quite the trip. I believe this is the same group that transited through La Pérouse Strait into the Pacific after going around the west side of Japan.
If it comes to war, the anglos must be pushed out of east Asia and what better way to ensure that than to deprive them of the Aleutians and Hawaii and if we really wanted, Alaska itself as well.
