I saw this on Fareed Zakaria's show mentioning an Economist article linking COVID-19 deaths in a country with inequity in a country. The more inequity, the more deaths and it also mentions more spent on health care for the rich had little effect but more money spent on the poor did affect the numbers. I can't see the article because of the paywall. Not sure if China was studied because they said 80 countries were involved. So are they saying China has lesser inequity since it's handled COVID-19 better than most? We always hear charged there's lot of inequity in China but this studies' logic seems to counter it if that's the case.

It shows China has high income equality, but it's double-rate of deaths is significantly lower than other nations. This study is weird, it found that COVID mortality is positively correlated with trust levels and group affiliations. So yea, weird.

But recipients of booster shots showed over 2.5-fold higher neutralizing potency against Delta about four weeks after the third dose, compared with the level seen about four weeks after the second shot, researchers from Chinese Academy of Sciences, Furan University, Sinovac, and other Chinese institutions said in the paper.

Shipping crises caused by China closing ports for coronavirus is reaching a fever pitch and might actually cause a deflationary crises across the world before the year ends.

Is there an actual plan behind these shutdowns, or is the PRC ran by loonies that believe even a single case warrants a lockdown? I don't see a reason for jeopardizing the global supply chains that are China's only leverage over the world
Be careful with what you say, there are 1.4 billion "loonnies" who do not tolerate any single one case.

Who cares if you see a reason or not? It is not your port, harbor, home to be locked down. Who gives a fxxk about deflation crises in your country due to your incompetent government and idiotic population who loves viruses crawling inside yourselves?

"jeopardizing the only leverage"?, no, we are testing the power of that leverage. To see how long you are going to stand without the goods from our port.

I have heard stories from friends in the US that they knew people that still went out to bars (completely non necessary trip and an activity where eople would be not wearing mask) while covid positive, rather than just staying home for a couple weeks.

It's called freedom! Get some. USA number 1 (in covid cases and death).

In all seriousness, that's a lot of Canadians too, people just don't care anymore.

Looks like two doses of Sinovac and a booster shot of CanSino is a good option. However, CanSino shares platform with AZ and J&J vaccines, both are noted for their side effects.

Livzon is also testing its new fusion protein subunit vaccine as a booster to Chinese inactivated vaccines in addition to running the phase III trial as a standalone vaccine. The huge "install base" of Chinese inactivated vaccines around the world is a key advantage of new Chinese vaccines going forward.
