You notice there's zero word of any Chinese citizens stuck at Kabul Airport waiting to get out? I originally thought this is because MFA issued the warning to leave the country at the end of July after the Tianjin visit but turns out China was quietly moving pieces even earlier than that:

This is an early report regarding COVID-19 cases. 22 confirmed cases were discovered on a single flight, flight MF8008 which left Kabul on 2nd of July. The cases were confirmed on the 6th of July. Initially there was an uproar and people bitching how come flights from Afghanistan are allowed when they clearly have a big outbreak but then further investigation showed this was a government organised flight specifically to pull citizens out of Afghanistan due to deteriorating security conditions.

I think that tells you who's intelligence agencies are working and who's is not.

But with the way the U.S. abandons Afghans, it just leas me to wonder what is going through the minds of these frogs in the well people. Over in the Taiwan thread, there are still people arguing that U.S. will not abandon Taiwan like they did in Vietnam and Afghanistan.

Conviently forgetting that U.S. has abandon Taiwan big time when it colluded with the rest of the western world to kicked Taiwan out from the UN in 1971, and to cut ties in 1979. Its like a battered wife syndrome. Just what will this people learn?

I think one can argue the US might see Taiwan as its last desperate hope to hold back China somehow. So, it might use the Taiwan question for its own devious ends. All of the events that undermine Taiwan in the past didn't necessarily mean the US losing its shot as the ultimate global leader. This time, they're desperate.

How deluded. Now when they say no military is it like nuclear weapons where the US can have them but no one else can because is the US believes it's the only responsible country that can trusted with them? It's not just about money. A country like the US needs also power and using the military is the easiest form of power.

Honestly, I don't think it is a bad thing if it is done properly. It can be used to deal with the aging population and some PR points. Given, China's massive population, they will be sinicized in a few generations.

Why don't they get a gander at US social media? There's some real heartless racist toads there. Maybe they're trying to sour the Afghan people against China. Wrong audience since they're not the ones in power.

This is just them trying to use this as proof Chinese are uncaring or racist or something. Do whatever they can to turn the region against China.

These are just baby feelers, they will ramp up the propaganda as time goes by, when Americans start to even forget who the Taliban are to them. By 2030 you will see headlines like "Chinese killings of Taliban freedom fighters is escalating to genocide".

It does make me feel curious about what the call about bailout was like. Did it go something like “please help us out like you did in 2008” or did it go like “bail us out like you did in 2008 or else”?

China, as a country, people and civilisation has often been put forth as a foil and projection for the insecurities and failures of the white man.

This is really why white nationalist 'whole of civilisation war' types want a war with China, because it gives their own lives meaning, especially if they're the white christian evangelical type; without China as an enemy, they'd have to forge their own path in life and to some people, there's nothing more frightening than a life without purpose.
