The South Korean government has summoned the Japanese ambassador to the foreign ministry over crude remarks about President Moon Jae-in and his attempt to

Hirohisa Soma, the deputy head of the Japanese embassy in Seoul, reportedly ridiculed Moon’s chances of holding a summit with Suga during the Games, accusing the South Korean president of “masturbating”.

In response, South Korea’s First Vice Foreign Minister Choi Jong-kun called ambassador Koichi Aiboshi to the foreign ministry to express its “grave” regret and lodge a protest over Soma’s “undiplomatic and rude” remarks. The foreign ministry also urged the Japanese government to “take substantial and proper steps expeditiously to prevent recurrences”, it said in a statement.

“It was quite inappropriate for a diplomat to make such remarks,” the ministry said. “We’re taking this incident seriously, and we will take proper diplomatic measures.”

Soma reportedly made the remarks on Thursday while speaking to a journalist from South Korea’s JTBC about the faltering negotiations for Moon’s visit to Tokyo for the opening of the Olympics next week. South Korea hoped Moon’s possible visit to Tokyo for the Games, which open on July 23, would include an hour-long summit with Suga.

Two of Moon’s senior aides last week said the president would visit Tokyo only if there was an opportunity for an extended summit with Suga, giving the two leaders a chance to address

“President Moon is masturbating,” Soma reportedly told the JTBC reporter. “The Japanese government cannot afford to worry about the Korea-Japan issue as much as South Korea thinks … President Moon is engaged in a war of nerves on his own.”

Soma apologised for his remarks and later clarified that the expression was intended to describe “the trend of Korean diplomacy” and was not directed specifically at Moon.

Ties between South Korea and Japan have been strained by disputes over historical issues stemming from World War II and the period of Japanese colonial rule, including

According to JTBC, Soma insisted South Korea should make the first move to improve ties with Japan by presenting solutions in the areas of disagreement.

“The South Korean government must first submit answer sheets to the two homework issues:

After JTBC first reported Soma’s comments on Friday, the Japanese embassy in Seoul sought to contain the diplomatic fallout as Aiboshi made a statement expressing regret.

“Soma’s remarks were very improper and quite regrettable ones for a diplomat to make, even if they were made during background conversations [with a journalist],” he said, adding that he had “dressed [Soma] down severely”.

No one calling this Wolf Warrior Diplomacy? This is way grosser and less appropriate than anything Zhao Lijian has said.

And if I didn’t think that these racist pieces of crap couldn’t make me hated them anymore then I do now, well it seems that they are not quite finished yet.

And now it seem there are people that celebrate such evil actions along with putting forth ideas that these so called believers will be raptured out of the world when the USA finally goes to shit. It’s like they are count on God to help them to avoid punishment because of there so called birthright.

I cannot wait until these delusional pricks are not only proven wrong (like they really think that God will bend down to their delusional command) but also made to experience the same hell that these innocent natives had to put up with for centuries. The moment that the USA loses its primacy in the world should be the moment when the collective Anglo Saxon bullshit mentality should be put to the test to see if they can suffer the same evils they force the native through and if not they must be put to the sword because anyone who thinks that committing genocide on innocent children simply due to a difference in race needs to be obliterated. May these evil bastards die screaming because all I can say is that these scum haven’t suffered remotely enough

The author forgot to mention which "countries" supposedly "willing" to house american nuclear weapons I don't think not even japan is insane enough to accept them, south korea is even more unlikely

Just look at how this chain of shit got started:

1) Some semi-private organization/personnel disclosed what look like new silos of ICBMs in China (tipped by ...?) --> 2) State Department jumped on the news to urge China to participate in the nuclear weapon control negotiation with the US and Russia. --> 3) Media and think tanks hype the threat and suggest US deploy INF in China's neighboring countries. --> ?

Sounds familiar, right?

Yup all the hallmarks of cia disinformation campaign
On a serious note, how likely would it be for japan (the only country i could think of that might be willing) to house INF?

There are more than a few in Japan willing to allow the US to deploy INF. They need to convince the public though. I suppose the recent hawkish statements from Japanese government officials on Taiwan might have something to do with it.

China's large ballistic missile arsenal has long disturbed Americans. They talk about it a lot. It is something that is impossible defend against, and capable of paralyzing the US operations in West Pasific. They are trying to get China dismantle that arsenal by deploying nuclear armed missiles around China. Pointless in my opinion. The US already has the capability to nuke China. The Chinese arsenal is stored in underground tunnels and deployed in off-road capable trucks.

I can see Japan and the Philippines accepting such weapons to their soil. India won't because of Russia. South Korea won't because China is capable of causing a lot of pain by prompting NK more. Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam won't accept too. They are firmly neutral in this. For Taiwan, even a rumor means nuclear war instantly. Australia is too far away. This leaves the Philippines and Japan. The Philippines is unpredictable because there is a huge US influence on the country. Japan will definitely do it if the US wants it. The NK card could be played against them to a lesser extend but I don't think it will change things much.

@BoraTas Sir regarding the Philippine our constitution forbade any storage and basing of nuclear weapons. The EDCA only allow the pre positioning of US military equipment with joint control and also in strategic and tactical sense why make yourself a target and let your country future tied to foreign hands. The reason why Duterte is popular, his messaging is effective and is gaining traction among the masses. He use the Japanese invasion of the Philippine during WW2 as an example and why we were involved is due to those US bases and troops presence.
