Just a question about the renumbering from 1xx to 01..24: What is the new number of 100?
From what i've read in this thread is that only the first digit was stripped from the 1xx pattern. So 101 became 01 and so on. Or did 100 became 01, 101 -> 02, ..., 124 -> 25?

Edit: Typo

An older image of J-15D from a year ago, but I don't recall this being shared.

New video show training of carrier based pilot . first time I see touch and go landing at close up min 4:10. At 10:30 it show simulated sea rescue of downed pilot complete with wave and darkness

The main content of this program: December 17, 2019, with the entry of the domestic aircraft carrier "Shandong Ship", the People's Navy has entered the era of dual aircraft carriers, and it has become a glorious and urgent mission to train carrier-based pilots in its own way.

Looking at the world, the number of pilots of carrier-based aircraft does not exceed two thousand. It is the dream of many pilots to be able to fly carrier-based aircraft, but it is also the most challenging undertaking. Carrier-based aircraft is one of the most difficult types of fighters in the world. Because of its high degree of difficulty and high risk factor, carrier-based aircraft pilots are also called "dancers on the blade."

Around 4:13 a screenshot I took

Are my eyes playing tricks with me or is this 57? If so the implications are obviously massive so I'd like secondary or more opinion.

Edit: Further screenshots around that time stop. I now am quite sure we have a 57

Look more like 07. Note this documentary was aired on 30th of march 2021, and only contain footage of 0x-2x numbered planes and older 1xx numbers. Footage of 6x,7x appeared later something around May possibly taken during the exercise of liaoning and Shandong.

At the very least air frame number #31 is also included. But as usual this is a hodge podge of footage taken anytime from J-15 induction in service to this year.

Also I got J-15 #64 on my hard drive from the 20.02.2021 on land and #67 from 22.04.2021 so we definitely new before about 6X. And

was spotted as early as 17.12.2020 during carrier operations according to the file date on my hard drive.
But I don't quite get the point. There is a good chance they had quite a few J-15 for a while and only show them to us now since they have at least for J-15 nigh perfect control about which serial numbers they want to show us so we have to assume our spotting is delayed by an arbitrarily large timespan.

I personally can't say with certainty that the aircraft are numbered chronologically (later serial <--> later arrival date) or if they break the order in which they get inducted at times which is why I don't exlude an alleged #57 joining the fleet after #6X but vice versa I don't see a reason to believe so either. They could easily have footage of it by now even if they have inducted it after the later serials.

The 0 digit for the tail number for J-15s has no line in the middle going by previous serials. But the speed of the aircraft combined with the lack of a bright illumination source means it is somewhat blurry. If it were a 0 however I'd expect the large shape to stand out more than that and from further apart from my screen the contrast does look very closely to a 5 especially over the whole sequence.

I have gone back and taken frame by frame screenshots. While it is horribly blurry when zoomed in and suffers from compression artifacts, it looks more like 07 when zoomed out.
