Holosun is still very well in business, they moved to City Of Industry a few years back.

Another American company complaining when being outcompeted. I also highly doubt their claims on the patent problem. The next decade will be a fun one folks especially when China beats them on every field. Now if China could just only start selling higher quality firearms to the market that would be great.

Chinese firearms that were imported into the US before the Chinese Import Ban and Assault Weapons Ban are very well regarded. My most reliable weapon I own is my MAK-90 which I debanned and restored by taking off the stupid thumbhole stock and replacing it with a proper Chinese AK wood stock and installing the spike bayonet assembly. 10,000rds through it only had 2 stuck casings through that whole time. (Shit polymer coating on the ammo, thank stupid murican shooters for that, nothing wrong with lacquer!) Even my best AR-15s can't match that performance, not even close. Theres a good reason why Chinese AKs are so damn expensive in the US. Even Chinese SKS have gone up in price.

I also have 2 Norinco 1911s which are also well regarded, as it is the closest copy of John Browning's original specs and uses a very hard, tough all forged steel. No MIM garbage like so many modern US production 1911s today. The one that I shoot the most has probably 5000+ rds through it with only 1 or 2 malfunctions that were ammo related not gun related.

I love how the meme of Fallen western manufacturers… I see it a lot these days where every thing from cars to weapon makers made in China will supposedly drive the competition out of the market if “only protectionism falls”. Which is funny as the Chinese products have entered the US market and often sit at either lower tiers or considered lower quality if not downright scams.
The best selling dot on Amazon is the Sig Romeo which is funny as it’s made in the same factory similar build as the Holosun line. It probably sells as it does more due to the Sig name. The best selling dot in the US is Aimpoint not holosun.
Aimpoint (a Swedish company) already was well known for extremely long battery lifes before Holosun entered the market.
The Trijicon law suit was settled and we have no idea what it’s end game is. However they were facing more than holosun as the RMR was ground breaking in the US market as a Pistol dot. Rapidly every other optics maker then entered the line soon after it came out.

Norinco and Polytech imported good quality firearms that happened to be cheap. Only racist dumbasses thought they were garbage because they were "cheap and made in China". Those who aren't idiots and actually use their stuff have nothing to good things to say about them. I doubt a Polytech Legend would cost $3000+ or any preban Norinco AK would cost $1500+ now if they were such poor quality. I've had others in the gun industry agree with me that if it weren't for the import ban Norinco can very well dominate the US market. I've noticed a decrease in QC across the board in US made weapons and ammo the past 10 years as well, all these panic buys aren't helping things either.

I don't consider Holosun, Primary Arms or SIG optics lower tier "scams" at all. I've seen everything from EO-Techs, ACOGs, MROs and even Aimpoints fail. These are either work, military issue, my own personal or friends optics. The only Chinese optic I've had to send back is a Holosun HM3X magnifier mounted on my AR pistol which broke after I dropped on the ground optic first in a non-padded low profile rifle bag. The HE512C mounted in front of it took the impact too but was fine. And Holosun quickly sent me a replacement. And now they're coming out with the smaller profile HM3X-Titanium which should be much stronger.
I've sent back EO-Tech and even a T1 yet my cheap PA Red Dots are still working great and holding zero on multiple rifles after nearly 10 years!
Just about everyone I know who actually shoots their weapons instead of just talking about them online run Holosun, PA, Vortex or SIG optics and have good things to say about them. One of my good friends has no problem mounting mostly Holosuns on his many full auto weapons which says alot as well. As these companies listen to their customer and improve their products I don't see how they can't dominate the US market, unless of course the fucking govt decides to sanction all of them as well.

Yes Aimpoint has made their name on reliable red dots with long battery life but it is a joke that the ACRO, their latest product hasn't upheld that reputation. The Holosun 509T beats it in every category including battery life and I had no problem recently buying one to replace the Type 2 RMR on my G19 Gen 5 MOS. Speaking of Trijicon I won't pay for their overpriced products again. The Primary Arms Prism line does everything the ACOG does except for tritium illumination but at a fraction of the price. I only have the RMR as I got it for a steal at a pawnshop. Yes its a reliable, durable optic but I don't like the distorted lens and having to take the whole thing off just to change out the battery. The 509T is replacing it as soon as I get the mounting plate for it.
The MRO is an overpriced, oversized flickering POS.

SIG has had known QC issues with their firearms for the past 10+ years. The SIG name doesn't inspire confidence in me, nor some friends that work on them everyday as armorers/gunsmiths.
Their recent optic line (mostly made in China from same factories) has proven to work well and be affordable, which Im sure is the main reason for their success, not because of the SIG name.

But that’s not important. You want to talk about higher end western systems having faults. Guess what they do to it’s often QC. Long standing benchmark brands can make flops to. Flops that brands like Sig will then set about to and have fixed.
My gripe is the meme that that I have often seen where in the China Identity means that a product will automatically prove superior or automatically dominate every market. That is obviously not universally true or untrue. Some Chinese products are great some a lot though are cases of you get what you paid for.

I pointed out that the Holosun brand isn’t what is topping in a fairly open market using Amazon’s metrics. Though the product in question is still made by Holosuns parent. You point to western products that have failed. It happens to.

Like everyone I have had Chinese made products that lasted and others where it fell apart within a first use. Some well made thing that are helpful others that ended up hurting.
Of course the cause of the import ban wasn’t Quality. It was crime.
