This could NOT have been said this ANY better!

Btw, this solar materials thing has been going on for nearly ten years, or more. It’s long been known, here, that solar roofing tiles was the way to go, and many folks (myself included) are desirous of installing them. However, the only thing that has held up this massive private investment in solar roofing tiles is that US companies failed to compete with Chinese companies in providing affordable alternatives and the US gov’t has not allowed Chinese companies to corner the US market. So, this new ban is only an progression from whatever tariffs or other sanctions that were already in place. This is simply the west artificially privileging itself to compete in what will be a huge future market. It’s just another example of the lie of Capitalism, that “the market” governs commerce.

None of this had any impact on China's solar industry. The only thing an American ban would do is further increase American inflation.
