Tesla is not happening.
Apple is not happening.
Boeing could happen but I doubt it. It would be a highly disproportionate response. China is keeping that card for other purposes.

Honestly this is an extremely complex matter and would have to be studied extensively by the Commerce, Foreign Affairs ministries together.

However I am guessing that, if I could see that coming from a year ago, the Chinese Gov also did and thus already created its own countermeasures ready to go from day 1.
For each $1000 iphone China makes it only gets $8 bucks profit...

It very darn well can and should happenings

Man this is a farce. We have known since a year ago that the US planned to ban the solar industry in Xinjiang. Just do it already and get over it. The whole world knows the real reasons behind this ban

Yeah I posted something about this in the Biden thread.

"Although the U.S. currently has production capacity, according to the domestic producers, U.S. technological leadership and production of semiconductor-grade polysilicon is at risk due to China’s actions to increase its dominance of both the semiconductor and solar supply chains. As a result of these actions, which include a high tariff on polysilicon imported to China, U.S. polysilicon producers have been cut off from the Chinese market, which represents over 95 percent of the global solar-grade polysilicon market. Direct and immediate customers in the solar industry currently do not exist in the United States. Because the production processes for semiconductor grade and solar grade polysilicon are closely related, U.S. producers must be able to take advantage of a robust global market for solar energy products to ensure continued production of material for semiconductors. According to these producers, China now accounts for over 70 percent of polysilicon production capacity, and U.S. producers, nine percent."

Apple is not stupid. They know that China will kick them out if they are not creating sufficient economic activity inside the country.
Nowadays, CPC also requires local technological development as well.

Apple, as well as other big multinational companies know that they have to start investing in local R&D.

Apple has already expanded their Chinese suppliers by a lot this year so I assume that "$8 profit per phone" will only go up from now on

There are other reasons as well but that would make for a long discussion so I will stop here.
Btw same applies for Tesla.

Anyway, these companies are safe as long as they behave appropriately

@voyager1 bro expect a troop surge instead of a withdrawal from the US, the reason to stabilized the Afghan gov't, I don't know why the US military establishment is so enamored with Afghanistan, I think there is a complicit cooperation between the Taliban and the Americans cause why not wait for the eventual US troops withdraw before attacking, it doesn't make any military sense.
Are you suggesting that the Taliban move is somehow coordinated with the US to make it stay?

Think about the fall of Saigon, North Vietnamese attacked the south before the US pulled out. I think Taliban is thinking in the same way as North Vietnam. The significance of such "early" move by Taliban is to show that foreign troops are driven out of Afghanistan, a victory by Taliban, a humiliation to the occupation forces. This is important to Taliban for post-occupation state building, a total victory will present Taliban domestically and internationally that its rule can not be disputed and challenged. Whether this "early" act will delay the US pull out is not a concern, After all so many years has passed, Taliban is still strong, they can wait. But it is the US who can not wait any longer.

It is quite simple. The Taliban made a deal with the previous administration where the US would pullout in May. May has come and gone. So now they start cracking heads.

US will strip Beijing of Olympics, Sue China, etc etc
Nice. If they adopt this proposal in particular, say goodbye to all these dollars that the Chinese love so much

opening up China to wrongful death lawsuits in federal court here from people who lost loved ones to the virus.
bye bye to these Chinese dollar holdings lol. Lets see then how they will sycophantically keep buying dollars. As long as the CPC delays phasing out its dollar addiction, this will eventually hit them in the face
The US is absolutely going to eventually "steal" these Chinese dollar holdings.

What House Republican leader says above shows how this is already being actively promoted in the US

China isn't buying dollars. They are are just accepting US dollars which they then convert into treasuries. The reason they have so many dollars is because of trade deficits. You could argue they should be converting the dollars into something else, for example the Japanese in the 1980s started buying US companies and properties. But the US severely restricts what China can buy. Japan had the same problem and they ended up buying useless things like the US movie industry.

People ask me why I spend my monies instead of saving 401k, since company matching... this is why... because I dont wanna get China'd
