No worries though, in 5 years China periphery will be much worse. Thats what happens when you are "muh non-intervention" and you are against a "muh more intervention brr" opponent. You take the high road but the low road guy with no morals will trample all over you.

I'm well aware of the efforts against China's BRI. But, I didn't realize there were underlying issues between Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan. You don't see this happening between Canada and Denmark with their arctic border disagreement. In other words, you can't start a fire if there are no tinder.

The contrast between Taiwan and China could not be clearer. On the one hand you have a top official grovelling and begging the west for help in English; while on the other you have the quiet dignity of Chinese officials addressing foreign journalists in Chinese. I will leave to you to decide who the west feels is the ‘good Asian’ and ‘bad Asian’ here.
No respect for China by Australia anymore. If China decides that it will neglect is military then Australia is totally right on slapping China left and right.

Conflict is easier to set off outside of that western world simply because there are far fewer resources available and often many more people fighting/competing over it. The western world is also operating where cost of life is much higher owing to how "productive" a western individual is on average vs someone outside of it, particularly in countries that are almost non-productive. They don't fight because they don't need to use violent means to end conflicts. They've also long realised how much conflict hurts their other interests, especially conflict with a politically aligned nation. Then there is also the fact that conflicts are often engineered and pushed into action by foreign powers wielding some level of hidden influence. While that's not always the case, it is sometimes and the west doesn't shit in its own kitchen when it comes to destabilising countries and regions using nefarious means. Canada and Denmark would only ever fight in courts of law.
