How much more proof do we need that america's silicon valley is overwhelmingly inundated and staffed by a managerial class of diaspora indians.
FB is a dying company anyhow, that's why it needs to consume other younger more exciting companies to stay relevant.
Its not just that. Go to reddit, you'll understand that many Indians don't consider Modi and his party to lose. That means they'll be in power for long (unlike in US where a crisis can directly or indirectly spell doom for a party).
So that means, even after Coronavirus passes, they'll clinch to power. The social media companies will have their lives getting difficult with regulations and cases filed under National security clauses.
I think it's convenient for China.
Well it seems like Buddhism has been better used in China, and now it seems karma is better used in China. Hopefully in due time China uses the Karma Sutra better than India.
Its certainly not because of diaspora Indians. Diaspora Indians are nothing but loyal bootlickers of White folks, they dont call the shots there.
The reality is that India is the largest market outside of USA for Facebook, Twitter, Google etc. Just like Modi banned Tiktok and entire Chinese app ecosystem with one notification, he can do the same to these companies if they don't toe the line. Fb as you rightly said is a dying company. The last thing they want is to lose a Billion users.
I must also point something else -
1. The world is increasingly looking at China's handling of coronavirus as a success and its vaccine exports a bit positively.
2. Even Xinjiang issues are being questioned. The constant flow of reports are being scrutinized (in many left wing and right wing anti-war circles) and judged as propaganda. It doesn't help that most articles lead to the same source (Adrian Zens), or NTD (FG) or Conservative American Think Tanks.
It also doesn't help that Sankei Shimbun or Sky news/ Fox tugs it.
Like someone said, I am wondering if China indeed has good karma!
