That timing of the 25-year deal is textbook perfect. Now I want to see Iran is going to sell out China again the way they sold out Huawei and ZTE.

The western politicians are all just cheap talk to deflect on their incompetence and get votes.I have read elsewhere that if there is a boycott, it will be most likely that the boycotting countries won't send their politicians over but the athletes and fans would still go.
Countries like SK Russia Canada that have held it in the last decade possibly. Canada could be replaced by the U.S.The winter OG will go ahead unless covid adds a hiccup. China leadership is keen to follow through and investments have been made already. There were reports china is going to retaliate hard if the west boycotts it.
Plus the more I think the more I reckon its all talk in the end. Many athletes especially from Europe are keen to participate, it's a fairly rare event that could be pinnacle of their careers. They dun want to train so hard only to be taken away the chance to compete.
Moreover which country can replace China in short notice?
@4Runner why would they do that? after being save from a crushing sanction and given a big boost on international front. And China had a good relationship with the gulf state, two can play the game if China wanted to?That timing of the 25-year deal is textbook perfect. @B.I.B. and China with Russia will return the favor and boycott it...LOLCountries like SK Russia Canada that have held it in the last decade possibly. Canada could be replaced by the U.S.
Are Huawei smartphones popular in Iran?@4Runner why would they do that? after being save from a crushing sanction and given a big boost on international front. And China had a good relationship with the gulf state, two can play the game if China wanted to?
There is no way that Iran is going to trust the US or the West. Iranians are far from being stupid. China Iranian deal is a long term deal, a sort of civilizational level deal.@4Runner why would they do that? after being save from a crushing sanction and given a big boost on international front. Even if Iran takes the bait the message China wanted to send was clear - sanctioned by the US? Sign a deal with us and watch Americans trip over themselves trying to fix their relationship with you. There is no way that Iran is going to trust the US or the West. Ship lost power during storm, crew rescued. Looks like some crewman dropped into water
Japan should learn this lesson, Saudi Arabia had bet all his chip with America and look what happen to her. SA is not even a regional power Japan is, so she had the leverage or at least negotiated on a position of strength with the US regarding her interest. Within 3 years her position and advantages will erode and if SK played her card right, she may overtook her in development and be equal in the region.
