Yes, superior is not the right expression, but a more neutral one will be competitive, I suppose. Chinese are generally more competitive academically, in the business world, more efficient in getting things done and at finding opportunity to improve one self, when compared to the ethnic Malays. Singapore was kicked out because the Malay politicians in Malaya were afraid Lee Kuan Yew and the Chinese would dominate them.

Well you cant expect the World to properly respect China when so many of its people are poor and its cities and villages are in a "bad" condition.

I mean unless you count the 4 (?) Tier 1 Cities what else does China can show to the world. Poverty alleviation is good of course but it is an ongoing process which will take another decade or more for rural revitalization.

So.if China wants to inspire countries it needs to wait for another decade at least.
Developing nations (Their Governments) actually look upto China not the West (many times with envy but that's not the point here). Indian policy makers have copied almost 90% policies from China (without much success for obvious reasons)

I once showed an Indian a video of Chinese Tier-3 city Yueyang. He thought it was Japan and when i told him its China he was surprised. But when i told him its a Tier-3 city he got absolutely shell-shocked because not a single top city in India comes close to this.

The thing is that the public of many developing nations still believe that China has infra like them (dirty streets, dilapidated buildings, congested roads, lots of poor etc). They've no idea about the pace of development which took place in the last 2 decades. The general perception is that outside of Shanghai everything is bad. But what many don't know is that What goes for Tier3,4 in China is equivalent of Tier-1 cities in Africa, India, Many SE Asian nations.

Chinas was late in the Soft Power game and ceded ground to the West in shaping world public opinion and showcasing themselves. It'll take time but China will eventually get the respect it deserves.

Sery Kim is now claiming she was only talking about the Chinese Communist Party. I didn't know the Chinese Communist Party was emigrating to the US to which in Republican racist terms means any Chinese who doesn't denounce and hate China just like them is a member of Chinese Communist Party. Her Republican handlers are teaching her spin. This is how the Republicans think they can't be racist because they got just one Asian to affirm what they believe so it must be right. Where's that democracy they claim to believe in when they can pick one racist Asian to represent all Asians?
You'll see this behaviour in western companies which are predominantly led by old white men. They are sexually insecure so will only hire Asian females or homosexual asians, just look at the china office of the NYT.
White companies will then hire these asian females to act as their puppets to prevent accusations of racism- which of course is going to happen because they are racist.

Someone like Sery Kim is under the impression she gets honorary white status and therefore gets the same privileges as a Becky. This is not the case as she will soon discover.

I would use the word jealous and not envious, but yes I do get your line of thought. Also I don't believe that Malays have the 'recognition that the Chinese are superior people'. That's a questionable statement to make... Singapore was kicked out of Malaysia precisely because of the dislike of a majority Chinese state within the Federation.

Anyway these politicians are snake oil salesmen. @ansy1968 is it true that in the Philippines, it is dangerous for ethnic Chinese to walk alone on the streets for fear of mugging and kidnapping?
@Crang bro good day, Yes what you had posted is true before Duterte is elected, we are the prime target of extortion and kidnap for ransom especially when election is near. Most of the perpetrators are the police itself with collusion from politician who use their power and authority to amass illegal wealth. We are on the brink to follow Columbia and Mexico as a narco state. Due to that we are the most ardent supporter of Duterte cause he clean up the bureaucracy and the inertia it created. The first thing he did is to raise the salary of the security forces 100% of their former salary. In an instance eliminating corruption while weeding out corrupt official and he killed local and gov't official involved in nefarious activity that is why he is called the punisher. He knew our justice system can be bought and the only way to eliminate this bad elements is to killed them. And it had a residual effect the FEAR of the consequences an eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth, may sound barbaric but the immediate effect is clear to be seen, we had won our street back from the criminals and we are afraid no more and we have our freedom back. Foreigners don't understand that democracy is useless if your safety is not assured. That is why the human rights accusation against China doesn't fly, people living inside had freedom of movement while people in the west had fear.

But Westerners accuse Duterte of human rights violations?

But Westerners accuse Duterte of human rights violations?
@Crang he had broken the notion that what the west espoused is not ideal on our present situation which is semi feudal. Oligarch lording over us with impunity. It may become the same outcome in the US if the present situation doesn't change.

Regarding Duterte human rights violation, Davao before Duterte is known as murder capital or Philippine version of killing fields. Duterte made it livable by letting his hand dirty by cleaning up all the criminal activity by all means possible, killing criminals and corrupt official and he admitted it. That is what required to maintain peace in the city and that is what leadership meant owning it and take responsibility. You may question his method but the end result is what matters, when you're dealing with a criminal element that is determined to destroy you, western niceties is not the answer but brute force is.

I tried to remember what it was Mahathir said, and I found the article. He accused China of colonialism two years ago.

Which is hilarious because if I'm not wrong, four years ago he said China was a benevolent and peaceful civilization with no colonial instincts, opposite of Europeans.

Slimeballs.

Malaysian prime minister Mahathir Mohamad has warned against “a new version of colonialism”, in a pointed expression of Asian unease about China’s increasing economic and political influence in the region.

Mahathir is the biggest two-headed devil in Malaysian politics. He is the Don, the root of everything wrong in Malaysian politics today.

He praises China for being a 'peaceful' power in SEA for centuries. But later on accuses China of neo-colonialism.

This is a man who in the 90s, spoke out against Apartheit in South Africa. But at the same time organised anti-Chinese policies in Malaysia akin to how Mugabe treats the whites in Zimbabwe.

This is the man whose 'Look East' policy looks only to Japan, not China. He has been admiring Japan since his schoolboy days when Japan occupied Malaysia. When he campaigned in 2018, he said that Proton, the national car maker was being bought up by 'China', not Geely. But he doesn't mention that Proton has been rotting away for decades thanks to his role as advisor. He will never say that Proton is bought up by Japan, if let's say Mitsubishi was the buyer. I'm certain.

Before Mahathir came into power, he was one of the masterminds of the great Malaysian anti-Chinese progrom in 13 May 1969. When he is was in power in his first term as Malaysian PM. He enacted policies that heavily discriminates against Malaysian Chinese. Malaysian Chinese businesses were forced to be sold to his cronies. Ethnic Chinese (but also other minorities) were given limited entrance to public universities and scholarships. He also started the yellow peril scare election campaign. Saying that ethic Chinese will take over and wipe out Malay culture and religion if he and his party loses any elections. It worked for many decades. This had cemented a culture of intense Sinophobia in Malaysia to this day.

This man has intense hatred for Singapore. Mainly because of its ethnic Chinese majority. He has tried many times to undermine Singapore. From threatening to deny water supply to Singapore, claiming islets, dreaming of diverting shipping traffic away from Singapore, and cancelling the High Speed Rail project with Singapore. It is only Singapore's economic and military might stopped Mahathir's ambitions.

This man asked for Carrie Lam to resign during the 2019 HK riots. But in Malaysia in late 2019, when people are asking for him to make way for a younger leader. He schemed the 2020 coup. His reason, to stop a 'Chinese takeover' and dilution of Malay power. Is this a man who is sincere to develop relations with China?

That is why @Crang and @KenC are absolutely right. China cannot trust Malaysia. It is two-faced snake of a country. They want Chinese money, but are more than happy to hate and betray China anytime. And especially, please don't trust Mahathir and anyone associated with him.
