Well you cant expect the World to properly respect China when so many of its people are poor and its cities and villages are in a "bad" condition.

I mean unless you count the 4 (?) Tier 1 Cities what else does China can show to the world. Poverty alleviation is good of course but it is an ongoing process which will take another decade or more for rural revitalization.

So.if China wants to inspire countries it needs to wait for another decade at least.

There accomplishments of China other non tier 1 cities are for all to see too, once you open your eyes wider.
Just go to Hangzhou, Chengdu, Chongqing, Hangzhou, Xiamen, Suzhou, Fuzhou, just to see the buildings, public amenities and environments have progressed tremendously ( in some ways surpassed the developed Western countries).

You don't have to wait for 10 years, as its the mindset that need to change. Even in 10 years if the mindset is not changed, people will still associate China as producer of low quality goods.

The Malaysian perception of China is changing not the least because it realizes China is also a technological powerhouse nowadays. Malaysian car manufacturer, Proton is now owned by Geely. The cars made by Proton with Geely's technology have excited Malaysians of all level, such that waiting period after ordering the Proton X50 is at least 6 months and yet thousands of buyers are awaiting.

I would have though that Indonesia will be the elder brother for Malaysia. But by calling China as Da Ge, and Wo men shi Yi Jia Ren, that is really something.

The death toll for the Taiwan train crash has increased to 50. Its the worse of such accident on the island in decades. It's a tragic day for Taiwan. Hopefully politics will be left out of this tragedy.
These days, everything is made to be political. But leaving that aside, this is a tragic situation and I hope they try to fix the problem so it doesn’t repeat itself

Ironically I think these moves by Russia are in small part due to the US focusing on China.

The Americans are not strategic geniuses.

With the Iran-China deal, Russia automatically becomes stronger.

With China, the United States contend with Taiwan, South China Sea, East China, and there is the constant muscle flexing.

With Iran, the United States contend with Iran sponsered military attacks in the Saudi-Yemen war.

With Russia, the United States contend with Russia in the same war in the Donbass.

Not sure why the Americans decided to do all of this at the same time. President Trump would not do that, but the Biden people are in charge.

This is the best time for Uncle Vladimir to make his move.

Cannot see how Biden will take America into another foreign adventure against Russia this time when the pandemic is beginning to accelerate again at home.

At the same time of this russian build up in ukraine, you also see China making moves in whitsun reef in scs near phillipines
Coincidence? After Wang Yi and Lavrov meeting I think not
Are we witnessing the first Sino-russian joint strategic moves?

The Chinese authorities will probably someday stop pegging the yuan to a basket of currencies and allow the exchange rate to fluctuate much more freely, especially against the dollar
Wont happen soon, but the first pieces are getting placed on the board. This is one of the real hidden ace cards that China holds against the US. And it seems that it is steadily using it.
Next step, Digital Yuan

Wasn't that Yugoslavia?
It was Serbia former part of what was then Yugoslavia. Serbians have been alleged to have received intelligence reports and aid from the Russians and China hence the "deliberate" bombing of the embassy which was excused by NATO as an accident based on an "old map" per Gen.Clark's own testimony; the map itself was handed to his air planners by non other than C.I.A. director George Tenet - the agency that has sterling reputation of being truthful.

With all the U.S. intelligence capabilities at it's disposal including the National Geospatial Intelligence which it's primary role is the following: The mission of the National Geospatial Program is to provide National topographic information to advance science, support government, enlighten citizens, and enable decision making. The NGP provides a foundation of digital geospatial data representing the topography, natural landscape, and manmade environment of the (United States) WORLD. There's no wonder why no Chinese leadership believed any of the excuses made by the U.S.
