Japanese media complained that American military helicopters flew illegally and dangerously through downtown Tokyo 17 times in 2020. Military helicopters are barred from flying low altitude around Tokyo, but the American helicopter pilots decided to go treat Tokyo as an urban obstacle course anyway. Leading some to wonder if Japan is a partner or colony of USA.

Also in another study which I will link later, many Japanese youths said that in a war between China and Japan, they would not bother defending Japan. Some even joked that the People's Liberation Army could free Japan from the yoke of Japanese right wing politicians.
Unfortunately Japan has no jurisdiction on any illegal activities committed by Americans forces during official duties or when victims are American citizens. Any such incidents come fully under US decisions. So US viewed such flights over Tokyo or any airspace as necessary official duties, thus Japanese can't do anything except complaints.
This agreement is very contentious to many Japanese.

Japanese were thankful US didn’t subject them to the same treatment Japan did onto the rest of Asia

What American media so afraid of is losing the dollar hegemony.

They are afraid of losing their dollar hegemony.

If the USD collapses, which means no more dollar hegemony, then the price for everything in America goes up. If half the population is living paycheck to paycheck, then this will be a shock to the system. Demand will dry up because all that money goes towards food, and little left for other things.

The RMB and Euro being more internationalized in terms of cross border payments, would mean the less demand for dollars.

Maintaining the value of the USD and avoiding a collapse are real concerns when all the Fed does is quantitative easing.

All articles about the Chinese DCEP that bring up the specter of privacy being violated is kind of silly, when the banks in the west have all transactions recorded for bank card purchases and credit card usage. Cash is not really that popular, for a couple of decades at least. Cash maybe just 25% of transactions for the consumer, just my guess. A company paying a company for an invoice will never use cash. Cash is just not that a big part of the economy anymore.

I do not believe there was ever a grand bargain.

Just like what Mao said, don't mess around with me and I won't do you over.

The DCEP is a preemptive strike against any further escalation in the trade war and tech war that leeks into the financial realm.

A Chinese digital currency in use in the world at large, is just bad news for the USD. There is nothing positive for the dollar with the rise of the DCEP.

Not that I agree but America making the argument that BRI was preemptive strike against dollar and China wanting to become revisionist power...

This is well deserved as well, the prospect of the US dollar declining is a good thing for the world and definitely will force the USA into a situation where they have to finally either balance the budget by cutting spending (hopefully on war) or basically force the USA to declare war on the world to force them to use dollars (which will further incentivise other nations into dumping the dollar) either way the future of the USA is not looking bright anymore

In a roundabout way it is.

Countries of the BRI do not include America. Why use their currency? Which allows to Americans to sanction everything through SWIFT of things they do not like.

The RCEP does not have America in it, and that already is the largest trading block around IIRC, and will double in 10-15 years. No reason for them to use dollars in the long run.

America is like the yakuza boss and Japan is only the middle level yakuza guy. He has to find business in only the areas the boss approves - such as battery production, automobile manufacturing and chemicals.
