I would say 28nm technology independent and 100% analog chips suffiency will able China to survive.

I am not worry about digital chips.

Analog chip issue can be tackled through nation wide reverse engineering effort.

Each University electrical engineering department would pick an US analog chip, decap it and use electron scanning microscope to study it's structure layer by layer. Measure the transistor sizing. Note the location and structure of the internal capacitor, inductors.

Once the report of the chip is done, do a design on EDA, run simulation to verify its functionality and parameters.

Go fab it at local foundry.

Galvanize and utilize every single electrical engineering department at China. Reverse engineering analog chip is doable since the gate count is not big.

I dont think US will suffer and they dont care actually. They have many allies and US and its allies control almost all semiconductor equipment and market. If decoupling happen, china will lose almost everything at long term. US can block China access to their chips and china cant even find replacement. Huawei is the example and nothing can they do about it.


Huawei is now focus on pig farming because they cant produce phone anymore.

Actually Huawei is still producing phones just less and for gods sake 5nm is only used for phones. Most industrial applications for the companies uses less advanced ships. I think US will suffer more losses as the world start to deamericanize their supply chains. Biden is trying to reverse this but he wont reverse Huawei ban, he might approve the individual applications tot sell to China though. So my prediction is in 5 years, when Chinese self sufficiency rates increase, US will be fcked.

Tesla and NIO use NVIDIA hardware in some data centers for image processing and autopilot. Still need high end chips. DJI still uses intel chips and so is satellite.

Byd new Han EV uses hauwei Kirin 710a 14nm. NIO should use that too.

DJI can use domestic chip for replacement. It should

Well in a way, they are correct.
That's accepting US primacy and surrender and accept whatever roles US give them.

They can then enjoy their ways of life.

I don't know about the fate of China long term in this conflict with US led coalition. The main thing is to destroy hegemonic elements as much as possible. Master semiconductor and spread it throughout China and non western countries.
Remember Soviets fell behind mainly because they lacking in semiconductor and CNC technology.
And of their economy also lacking.

Its no fearmongering its called reality in case you havent been paying attention to geopolitics the last couple years. When some predicted TSMC was gonna cut ties with Huawei, most at the time thought it wouldnt come to pass, yet here we are. When I predicted US would do blanket chip embargo of China, people say I overreact, yet did you read Cottons 80 page report calling for exactly this and more...
