How many Westerners watch Chinese news? In the US I can tell you not many. It's all propaganda to them. Those that do watch are usually the Chinese immigrant community. So if the US or Great Britain banned CTGN or any other Chinese news media, it's because they want to cut off Chinese from watching it. Like why ban WeChat? Non-Chinese Americans don't use it. They don't want Chinese in the US to communicate with those back home. I've pointed out before Americans are paranoid of non-white people talking to one another. That's what they're thinking about when they want to cut-off communication between others. Only they can decide what people can talk about and they have to oversee the conversation. To them when they deny people from talking to one another, it's because they only know what's good and therefore they can violate people's rights and freedom while when anyone else who does it, they'll be accuse of human rights violations. They don't like Belt and Road because they don't like the idea of other countries talking to one another without their say. Notice they avoid referring to Five Eye as an alliance of native English speaking countries like was said before. Now they're talking about letting Japan in just to counter how it automatically looks like an ethnocentric and racist grouping because it is hence why they know how it looks.
That is exactly what "cultural genocide" is. They aspire to control how people think, communicate with each other, interact with each other. They then naturally assume China has same aspiration and hence accuse China of the same act.

I wouldn't be overly concern with this report as it is not representative and a flawed report. On page 6 of the showing among those surveyed, you will see that the survey is significantly weighted and biased towards Vietnam in 2021 compared to 2020. Vietnam has very limited influence within ASEAN and yet was given a disproportional weight in this survey compared to 2020.
Those countries where China has good or improving relationship with have been given lesser weight on this survey compared to last year.
Leave it to the anglo media to find any selective material to sell their propaganda.

Yes she did some nice work. And she speak fluent Mandarin. She was married to a Chinese after all. She is well educated. I quite like her, even though she can occasionally shown subtle bias, like mentioning restrictions of her. And how she was follow etc. Yeah, as if foreign jouralnist from non align block working in the west wouldn't have their liberty curtailed.
But beside that, she is an angel compares to this guy, Sudworth. He's a rabid anti-China troll. And would not think twice of making things up is it put China in a bad light. The quicker China revoke his licenses the better.
